Surprised me today.

Shot the new LC9 for the first time.

cliffs:

VERY accurate for a mouse gun

Trigger is no problem...long, yes...but not a problem at all

Cycled FMJ and HP's without a hitch

Accidentally released the mag twice...NOT GOOD:mad:

Verdict:
Undetermined yet
Might add a CT laser and keep it unless I can't solve the mag release problem

first 7 rounds with the new LC9:cool2:

I do like how slim they are. Have not shot one yet. Surprised you ran into the mag falling out. When I handled one I never felt like the release was going to be hit

Getting mine out for the first time tomorrow. I only have 7 and 25 yard abilities at the range I'm going to. Can't wait to give it a whirl. Not real happy about the distances. Also, did u use the pinky extensions or not.

The LC9 is hardly a pocket or mouse gun, but it's good to hear that it's been reliable for you. The inadvertent mag release issue can probably be solved with some more trigger time, but I can understand your frustration. Congratulations on the new Ruger.

I stand corrected.

I carry a 1911 in .45, so the LC9 seems kinda mousey to me. ;)

I have a GEN 4 G21 & a PM9, so I know what you mean. Funny, we basically run the same combo, just kind of a flip flop (1911 vs G21 & PM9 vs LC9).

As soon as I get mine outfitted with the XS big dot sights it's going to replace my G26 as my EDC. Yes, the trigger pull is looooooong. I don't like the frame mounted safety, but I just won't use it. I also don't like the mag disconnect safety, bit it's not Ruger's fault CA sucks. I like that it's so thin, it's still a bit big for pocket carry, but it does ok in a cargo pocket in my shorts and does very well IWB.

I shot one a few weeks ago. It took me a second to get use to the trigger pull, but it's a pretty neat little gun.

I just bought an LCP which is practically the same gun only smaller and it hasn't been neutered yet by CA. I can't wait to pick it up. If I like it as much as I hope I will, the LC9 will be next on my list.

(might have my gunsmith fit a more firm mag release spring)

Not trying to start a Forum argument, but some have suggested their fingers are no where near the mag release when they hold the LC9.

I shoot a 1911, so below are pictures of my "muscle memory" hold.

During recoil and/or rapid fire it sure looks like one's fingers could very well contact the mag release.

It doesn't seem possible to make small hold adjustments in a gunfight.

And, if I have to change my pre-learned grip to shoot the LC9, well, that ain't gonna work for me.

What am I missing here?

Shot mine at 10 yards today. Couldn't really group for crap unless you consider the 6 ring grouping. I was all over the place with it. I'm going to try at 7 and 15 feet and see how it does as thats the distance it was made for and slowly work my way out once I see where its really shooting at. I need to make a sight adjustment because it seemed as if mine was shooting high but it may have been me again. I need more indoor range time with it.

Ive had mine for a few months now, I love the overall size, but I have also experienced the mag release issue along with a pretty strong trigger slap after the shot. I still can't get used to the trigger pull also. So for me I'm undecided on the gun as a whole. I like my LCP a lot better even though its a smaller gun. Don't think either is my choice as a carry firearm, will stick with my glock 26 or 27 even though I give up a ton in carry comfort.

I put about 200 through mine on Saturday. First time with it besides my CCW qualifying. Besides an extremely sore hand today, it shot quite nicely! I may think about something for the grips, though. My hand was getting pretty chewed up.

I was also thinking about one for my wife, but the recoil may be a little too much for her. Anybody else think the recoil would be a lot for a lady?

Let her shoot it. Some people are more recoil sensitive than others.
