Isn't this old news? Or is this a fresh incident?

There was another SEAL or U.S. Special Forces Operator who was trying to get into business with a Las Vegas businessman to sell full-auto AK's and other weapons of that sort several months ago. Got busted, big time.\

EDIT: Actually, I do believe it is the same guy that was busted then. He just got convicted of his offense now.

err No.. the BATFE was allowing the smuggling of illegal weapons out of this country and into another country to be used against civilians and US Servicemen. This guy was smuggling AK47s out of a war torn country and into the hands of US Firearm Collectors.

So he ruined his life over a freaking man toy. I would STILL be 100% against what he did if the weapons were going to Mobsters, or Revolutionist, or Militia, but at least it would be for a reason other than mall ninja stupidity.

Anyone that does illegal things with other people and really believes a person will keep their mouths shut is crazy. Only time this isn't the case is for gang members, they will get killed in prison if they open their mouths.

I think the saying goes "Three can keep a secret if two are dead". Saw that on an outlaw Biker t shirt.

Tanking your career for a little bit of money just doesn't seem like a good idea. I know there are some guys that would pay for AK war trophies.

It is interesting that it was the norm to bring home war firearms and now it's a federal offense.

If America was truly following the 2nd Amendment, this wouldn't be such a farking "bad" or criminal issue. Quite the opposite if done right.

 yeah... keep dreaming. He will get a Golden Parachute, then accept a 2,000,000 per year job as a Lobbyist.

This.

Everything is a 'Federal Offense' these days...it's an excuse for them to stick their noses into places it doesn't belong.
