View Full Version : Best Glock Extended Magazine Release?

10-04-2011, 10:20 PM
I am in the market for a Extended Magazine Release,
I found a few to choose from but am currious as to the metal to ploymer contact damaging magazines.
Has anyone expeienced this?
I prefer the polymer magazine (factory type) just wish I was able to find one that is shaped like a pad like the metal aluminum ones.
Ive read mixed (more on the bad side) reviews about the Metal pad the screws into modified polymer mag releases and how some stick out a mile from the frame or the screws strip and are small and dont sit flush.
My use would be for more of a Home Defense pistol and range use.
Ive seen pictues of the JP Enterprise, Zev Tech, and Aluminum versions.
All comments are much appreciated.
Pics would also be very helpful as there is not too many on Google. :-/

or this one, basically the same, but cheaper.

I have tried a few and found some too large, the Vickers is the perfect size for me.

ordered the vickers extended from botach maybe 1.5 months ago, still expected to come in 2-3 weeks :(

I run a Vickers on my G22. No complaints here.

Vickers on both my Glocks.

Not too long, not too short... just right in length. That plus rounded edges = :hurray:

If you are talking about a G17/G22 size Glock, just get the G21 OEM mag release for about $3. Sticks out about 1 mm more, works good. Shown on a G23.

The OEM one, which came out later, is MUCH cheaper.

I run the Vickers because that was what was available the time. It does make a big difference. Just not as much as I had hoped it would make.

+1 for vickers or should I say +5 for each glock

i literally just got my vickers slide stop and extended mag release in the mail . took less than 5 minutes to install both

love this crap!

G21's came out in 1990, you talking about before that?

Well now if you really want to jazz up your Glock you could get........

A pink extended magazine release!

:) Doubt it if works as good as OEM but hey it would stand out on the range!

The so called Glock factory extended is just a G21 OEM part.

If you get too far out there you will end up accidentally dropping your magazine all the time.

Not for me, I run them in competition for USPSA and 3 Gun on all my small frame Glocks, no problem. The extended slide stop is more of an issue.

Depends. For me, the OEM mag release on a G17 is simply too short. The Vickers is just about perfect, and the G21 "extended" mag release is too long. That's for a "serious use" pistol. For a gun games pistol, I really like the THE mag release. The larger button makes it super easy to drop mags w/o having to change my grip.

I personally use the Glock extended/large frame mag release as it's OEM and very cheap.. It does stick out a bit.. Ive seen firsthand several people inadvertently hit the release button during shooting..

Will the Vickers G21 extended mag release and slide stop release work on the G30SF?

10-05-2011, 6:53 PM
Namely this, for a G30SF:

If you look at the reviews for the Vickers G21 extended mag release, one guy says he put one on his G30SF with no problems. As the SF means short frame (from front to rear), I'd think the side-to-side dimensions on a G30 and G30SF are the same, meaning the Vickers release should extend the same on both models.

I like my Glock extended mag release fine, yea its kinda long but I'm used to it. :D

THANK YOU ALL for the replies and help, pointing me in good directions!

Lone Wolf extended mag release just came. Took me 5 mins to swap out on my glock17. I like it a lot. Don't have to change grip to release the mag now. Holster works fine. It's not in my way when i have both hands on the grip. Best thing is it only costs $5. Pics included. Lone Wolf release button is on the left.

THANKS FOR THE PICS! Looks like I may go with the Lone Wolf!
