I searched, but didn't see this covered. I really want one of these! http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/ARR225-1.html but they won't ship it to CA. Is this just a case of the rettailer being afraid to ship anything to CA or are they really illegal to possess in CA?

I live on property next to open desert and would have so much fun with this. Plus the reviews are priceless!

Your help is appreciated.

Ok, when I tried to order it, it was flagged as Not able to ship to CA and my order couldn't be processed. I had heard that if a retailer wasn't completely sure, they choose to stay on the side of caution and not ship to CA. Which I understand; However, my FFL couldn't understand why it wouldn't be legal.

These guys don't seem to have any issues shipping to CA:

Out of sheer curiosity, what would be the FPS of the golfball?

I don't know, but in one review the customer mentiond it would be fatal within 40 yards as it went through the exterior wall of his camper, through the interior cabinets and lodged halfway into the other wall.

no idea, but I doubt anyone would object when you ask if you can play through.

I think Palmetto State Armory carries it as well, and would ship to CA.

So you think its a retailer issue and not a legal issue?

I think I got mine from Cheaper than Dirt- but it was a couple of years ago- they are good fun...

Cheaper Than Dirt is an anti-CA vendor.
They will not ship anything to CA, in which they think is illegal.
You can show them proof that it's legal, but it's their policy that if they think it's illegal, they will not ship it to CA.
The policy will not change, unless they get new ownership or CA gets rid of all their gun laws.
Been told by their customer service "if you don't like it, you should move to free America".

a golf ball launcher is defined in Ca law as a destructive device. Civilians can not own them.

I have never really been into golf but if I was using this instead of clubs I'm down. Might have to make your own low power blanks for the shorter holes.

That's where the .22lr conversion kit comes in. I've got a pile of .22 blanks.

Finally, something to do with all those boxes of blanks that come home from annual training...

Got it the other day and OMG what a hoot!! They'll go through a plastic ice chest. And its contents. I can't believe how many people gave me golf balls they've "had in the garage". I really should have gotten this sooner.

Rad! My did lives on a course out in Eastern Washington for part of the year, and we are very good friends with the superintendent and owners... They would love something like this, I guarantee it. I think I know what to get my dad for christmas, maybe I'll get two.
