Is a rifle legally converted into a pistol legal with a bayo / bayo lug?
I think you'll have more trouble with the legal conversion of a rifle to a pistol. I believe the receiver has to start out as a pistol.

conversion issue aside, bayo lug is good to go
Under both Federal and CA laws...
A rifle with a less than 16" barrel length and/or a less than 26" overall length would be a SBR.
A bayonet lug and bayonet attached to it, is legal on any type of firearm or device.

Thank you for the warning about the conversion, I was cryptic. The rifle (reciever) will be legally demilled. The 'kit' w/ a new reciever will be the basis for the pistol build.
Just wanted to make sure about the bayo lug. I know it can't have any type of stock or stock attaching point. And no vert. forward grip.
One more question. It will have a theaded barrel but with a blind pinned and welded muzzle device so I think I'm OK there. Does that sound correct?

Threaded barrel is ok if your pistol is mag locked, ie ar or ak pistol
