Just ordered this scope for my 10/22. After rebate, it'll only cost me $52. Others that have this scope-- what are you thoughts on it? I have read about the extra tall turret-- not sure if I'll be getting this "version" or not.

I have that scope and for the price its a solid, clear scope. I was not disappointed in its performance. The biggest surprise was how clear this scope is. Colors do not wash out at the highest magnification and the scope holds zero very good, of course its mounted on a .22lr so not much recoil there.

I have a few of them mounted on various 10/22s. I really like them and have had no problem with them. Clear, sharp focus. Don't think you can beat them for the money!

I have about 6 versions of these budget Simmons. Optics are better or equal to some $150. scopes. I have them on both .22LR and .22 Mag rifles.

any pictures of simmons 22mag 3-9x32 and the AO model mounted on a 10/22? Would like to see a size comparison mounted --if any.

Also for other buyers in the market for the Simmons 22mag 3-9x32 A0 model, midwayusa has it on sale for $54.99 - $20 rebate = $34.99 + shipping

Rebate is $10 for any Simmons product from $49-99. $20 rebate for products over $99.

The AO model shouldn't really be any longer or shorter, or bigger or smaller, overall. I've got a 4x32 Bushnell on my 10/22 if you want a quick pic. A 4x32 is a bit shorter than a zoom scope (which you should be able to see in the now-attached pictures).

The objective bell on the AO model is a little bigger than the non-AO model. Not enough to make a big difference. I got the AO model and it came with rings, not the best but they work fine and the front of the scope easily clears the barrel on three of my .22 rifles. Good scope for the money, especially with the rebate.

Mounted on my CZ UltraLux I shot 3/8", 5 shot groups at 50 yds with Wolf Match Target ammo. Good nuff.

thanks for the clarifications on size and price.

I have had one for a month or so. It seems fine although the reticle is pretty coarse where it steps down to Duplex and the "fine" center portion looks like 2 L shaped wires. Is everybodies like this? L and reverse upside down L? about what I expect for $50....

Been a few weeks since I've looked through mine, but as far as I remember, mine is clean and crisp all the way around.

Here is another option: http://www.natchezss.com/product.cfm?contentID=productDetail&prodID=TAGA3932AGD

I don't own one but it receives excellent reviews on the web and some folks over at rimfirecentral like it. Just for info, I can't recommend it as I don't own one.

i have a Simmons 1022 scope on one of my .22's (rem 510) and it's clear, precise and was not expensive.

i am considering the Simmons you're looking at too for another .22 rifle i have.

the Tasco golden antler AG scope proposed by izzy43 looks good, too...geeeeee...for $29.95 + shipping, a person could afford to use it until it gets dirty, throw it away and get another...

incidentally, airguns scopes make excellent choice on rimfires due to the parallax adjustment for close shooting and they're made for the two way recoil of springer air rifles (most anyway)...not that a .22lr has much recoil to worry about.

FWIW, IMO, it's a good idea in selecting a 'rimfire', or air rifle rated, specific scope when shooting rimfire due to the parallax issue that can, possibly, cause a problem with close range zeroing of centerfire scopes at rimfire ranges; I've ran into that problem. (That's NOT to say one cannot use a non-rimfire scope on a rim fire, though. there are some excellent AO and side-focus, non-rimfire scopes available that I'm certain will work admirably on rimfire, but i think cost might enter into the equation.)

I have a Simmons 22 Mag NON AO scope on my 10/22 and no complaints. For the price its a great scope, it works. The included scope mounts are junk, you will need better ones.
