I currently don't own any guns, but that's not going to last long lol. I have been learning a lot already from this site and, I can't thank this site enough for the vast amount of threads available to help me through my future builds. I have been shooting before and have shot a .223,.308, and .22.

My primary focus is to build a AR-15. Going down to ammo. bros. within the next 2 weeks to order my first .223 lower.

I would really also like to buy my gf a rifle since it's something she has been interested in, since we have gone to the shooting range with friends. I was thinking of a bolt action .308. for her.

I'm not the type of person to just jump into something, so i have been doing my research and studying up on everything I need to know, and there's so much to learn. So any advice would be great!!!

Welcome to Calguns. Since you asked for advice... let your GF pick out her rifle. Take her to the range and let her try different types and calibers. My wife prefers revolvers over semi auto pistols and really likes shooting her Ruger 10/22.
