View Full Version : Red dot recommendations for a Mini-14 with ATI Strikeforce stock?

I have a friend who wants me to order and install a ATI Strikeforce stock kit and a red dot scope for his Mini-14. His wife shot my AR and she liked the scope and pistol grip on it. I told him for $200 or so he could make his rifle more like an AR and he said go for it. When he shot my AR I had a Primary Arms M4 red dot (http://goo.gl/Va8Iq) when she shot it and it fits into the budget. I also had a PA QD 3x magnifier that I am sure he is going to want to have at some point. The other scope I had my eye on for him was this Bushnell Tactical Elite (http://goo.gl/ihd8o). Currently he has a wooden stock and some sort of basic hunting scope on it, mounted with rings over the action.

Because of the design of the ATI stock and the location of the picatinny rail over the gas system, the scope will not sit where it does on my AR. So my concern is if he ever wants to ad a magnifier, it will put it and the RD so far forward it would not work correctly.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a red dot setup on a Mini-14 with a Strikeforce, with the possibility of adding a 3x magnifier? Any input will be appreciated!

Thanks in advance!!!

Vortex or Primary Arms.
