Hi everyone,
I'm trying to replace the the stock Spring with a model D spring and. But when I watch the video that tell me to remove the Loop pin by applying pressure at the base, the pin will not come out no matter how hard I push. I know that the pressure has to been even so that it can slide out. It looks like the pin is permanent. In the video it looks like it slides out with ease.
Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Any suggestions on how to do this would be great

When installing mine I found that the USA made Berettas were super easy as you probably see in the video. The Italian versions used a different roll pin which was more difficult to get out, so usually a punch would be used, so most people would replace the roll pin with the US model after so it's easier to get to when needed.

I have an older Italian made one that I believe used a roll pin. The newer one I have used a solid pin. The roll pin is removeable....just tougher to get out. The correct diameter roll pin punch will push the roll pin out with a little hammering/tapping.

YES! thats exactly the issue! Thank you. Ok, I have tried a punch but it take tremendous strength that I do not want to scratch or bend anything.

You aren't going to be able to "push" that roll pin out by hand. It will need to be tapped out with a hammer and tapped back in. They have a roll pin starter punch that makes it easier to reinstall, but you might be able to get it back in without it.......

Same on my wife's.
Get a bench block... and don't forget that you have to remove both grip panels ;)

Are you local to So Cal?

I put one of these in a few years back on an Italian Beretta 92.

If you're close to North Hollywood, I'd help you out free when I'm stuck there waiting for prospective tenants :)

If Dave isn't able to help you, do be careful on reassembly.

I changed both the spring and the hammer... but even though the spring seems simple, the hammer bar needs to be inside the spring, and if you are inserting it with the gun on it's side or barrel-down, the hammer bar may get caught on the outside of the spring.

You can also check Brownell's for the better, solid lanyard loop pins. They only cost a few bucks, and make removing and reinserting the mainspring a two-second affair, with no tools necessary.

I managed to take it out with a punch. It was a real pain in the @$$! I ordered a new pin which is solid instead of the rolled pin.

Everything i need to do is on this website

I think the hard part is over. Man, It was really hard getting it out. I made a knick or two in the sidewall of the grip but nothing major.

So, I put the Comp. Hammer and D spring in. I works great. I have a hex allen keeping it all in place when I get my solid pin in the mail from http://www.olhasso.com/PS/index.htm

Yes, the italian 92s need to have the roll pin punched out but mine wasn't overly difficult to take out. Having a roll pin punch and small ball peen hammer made the job easier.
I performed the same upgrade to my 92FS but also added the extended Elite mag release in addition to the Elite hammer and "D" spring. Made a nice gun even nicer to shoot.
