...with a qualifier: it needs to be powerful enough to cycle a Ruger 10/22. So the powderless rounds like Colibri and Aguila CB are out.

Does anyone have any recommendations? I'd like minute-of-crow accuracy out to 50-60 yards.

Thanks.

Wolf MT is quieter in mine than CCI Subs.

A 10-22 with an intergral surpressor and reagular high velocity rounds works pretty good.

In your 10/22? Does it cycle OK?

An integral suppressor? Can you provide a link to one?

Can you legally own a surpressor in Ca. If so, do a quick google search. That way, I don't appear to be favoring one over another.

BTW, IIRC, there is or was a conversion kit out there to shoot .22shorts from a 10-22 and have it cycle. That might be your best option. Just remember that when you use reduced power loads, you loose knock down power and range. Even an intergral surpressor will take power from the round. So, you will need to consider a lot more than just sound surpression if the transfer of kinetic energy and precision at a certain range are qualifying factors.

Wasn't sure about your exact location, so this should only be a little bit useful.

Enter your address, and then any address in Nevada. Done.

Looks like the conversion kit was discontinued, at least by Brownells. I wonder if it was a bit problematic in practice.

I think I misunderstood what Cannoneer was talking about. By "integral" I was thinking of a one-piece barrel that would still fit the OEM stock. From my brief review of Google results, though, it appears that they come as full guns with their own stocks. Not what I want to do, even if it were permitted here.

Maybe I'll just try the balloon over the muzzle trick...to keep the rain out, of course.

I read a write up on the Cloak suppressor, where the use a standard bull barrel for a 10/22 and machine the suppressor into the end. I uses a standard .920" bull barrel stock that way instead of 1" like many others. If I ever move to where I can get one I think that would be a great thing for plinking.

You might want to couple the subsonic ammo with an lighter bolt spring. Should give your gun a better chance of cycling with the low velocity rounds like the Wolf.

Just the guide rod and the springs (hm2, std, Sub)

All my 10/22's sycle Wolf MT just fine. Its subsonic, but not quiet. I think anything with enough "oomph" to cycle that heavy 10/22 bolt is going to have enough power to make too much noise. Suppress it, or if the engineer in you is strong, buy another bolt and lighten it and find a recoil spring to cycle Super Colibre or something.

Ahhhh my henry lever with .22 CCI shorts....21 in the tube and its quieter then a red rider bb gun. Remmington subsonics cycled in my semi's I just didn't think they were all that quiet

I've been getting Remington Subsonics from big 5 and walmart. Don't know how they compare to other brand subsonics but work well for squirrels, and cycle my 10/22 just fine.
