I'm trying to decide between two Savage rifles, and would like your help.

One is Model 10 FCP-K, and the other is the 11 FCNS.

Both feature a carbon steel barrel in .308 WIN with their Accu Stock and Accu Trigger. Both feature a heavy barrel, but the 10 FCP-K (in their law enforcement line) weighs in at 2 pounds heavier. The 10 FCP-K also has a muzzle brake.

The 10 FCP-K has a 24" bbl and MSRPs at $919, and the 11 FCNS has a 22" bbl and is $675. Which model should I choose?

What is your goal with this rifle? Long range target or hunting? Heavy barrels on the 10 series are designed for long range target.

Depends on what you want to do. If you're going to hunt then you do not want the 10 FCP-K, trust me... ;)

If you're going to shoot from a bench and want a tactical look, or if you're going to use your firearm as a tool, then the model 10's are great.

If you're going to only shoot from a bench, I would look into their Model 12 line and call it a day.

If you plan on hunting you don't want a bull barrel. You'll hate the extra HEAVY weight while walking or climbing.
