I've started looking at binos and some of them get well up into the $1k+ range  Cutting to the chase, I'm requesting your experience with binos that are affordable, yet perform well (or bad so we can stay away from those). Im in the market for 8x42 around $100-$200 range, more or less. I don't know much about optics but I want a "best bang for the buck" set of binos to peek at deer, bear, birds, and the girl next door (. just kidding about the girl btw)

Look at the Pentax 8x40 PCF WP II. Search it on Calguns.

I have a set and like them a lot They aren't Zeiss, but for around $220 they aren't bad at all and an unconditional No BS warranty to boot!

I just bought a set of Leupold 8x42 Acadias. You may check those out, too.

Nikon Monarch's, one of the best for the price out there. Their 8x36's and 8x42's are some of my favorite. For around $200 you'll swear you are looking through glass that should be $700 and up.

I have a pair of the Vortex Crossfire 10x42. Very pleased. I bought them @ OpticsPlanet for 150

My main binos are Vortex Razors. They've been compared favorably to Swarovski, which come into their own in very low light - but I paid less then half.

Got a pair of Crossfires free when I bought my Vortex Viper rifle scope. They are very good also...

Vortex makes awesome optics, and there warranty is the best in the business.
