So I've had my AR-15 for almost 2 months and finally got time to hit the range. My buddy also just purchased the Aimpoint Pro for his newly build AR, and me having the Lucid HD7 with the 2x magnifier we were both able to sight them in and compare sights. At the end i'm happy with my Lucid, don't get me wrong the Aimpoint is nice too, but it's personal preference.

Here are some pictures taken with my Iphone enjoy!!!

for the price you can't beat it. I am worried my clumsiness and hiking style will damage the optic. How would you rate the ruggedness of the sight... would you drop the rifle on the cement optic first or do you think that level of abuse COULD (very possibly) damage it?

I found myself trying to figure out what the 2x doubler was. I have a Lucid as well, but with the 2-5x magnifier and swing-to-side mount. Pretty happy with my optics as well, even after a couple of visits to BLM. Its held zero without any adjustments to speak of.

I would not drop mine on the cement. However regular dings and bangs have not done anything noticeable to the unit. After a year it is still going strong.

I rate the ruggedness of the sight pretty high, it feels well built and the rubber coating feels like it would absorb most of the shock. As for dropping it on the cement i thing it will hold up pretty good but who knows until someone wants to put $200 on it.

That is nice!! I was actually thinking about ordering my 2-5x magnifier and swing to side mount by ADM. Do you know what the eye relief is on our Lucid, when you swing the magnifier to the side is the red dot still clear when the sight is that far up?

I'll dig through my receipts, and post here.
FYI, the front cover is heavily modified (shortened and inside opened by sanding for proper fit.) The cover is just way too snug out of the package.
I also removed one of the ears on the cap covering the rear of the red dot for clearance with the magnifier. Nothing gets in the way with the ear removed, and the magnifier swings into place perfectly, leaving all covers in place.

Oh man, I also have the Lucid 2-5x and I don't know how you can you shoot it with it so far back on the rail. It has so much eye relief that you have to back off from the gun, big time. I only run mine on 3X or higher due to this reason.

I also have the 2-5 magnifier, I use it with a PA flip to the side mount and a PA micro dot, works well together. Here is a pic,

Yeah it's the Phase 5!! My bro and his buddy is having problems with the bolt staying back after there last shot, not sure if it because of the Phase 5. I have no problems with mine :D
