Im looking at getting an optic for my AR15. Looking to shoot between 0-175 yards and would like to spend less then $500. Any suggestions?

I've been doing a ton of research for AR15 Optics in your price range, just picked up my MP15 ORC.

So far the clear winners are Aimpoint Pro and Eotech optics. Both are right around 500$. Seems like from what I've read the Eotech is a bit older technology. However I really don't know too much about actual use, just what I have read. I'm planning on getting the Aimpoint but I really liek the Eotech, whish I could afford both :p

For now Im going to be using a Vortex Strikefire, its only 150$ and since I bought the Tory industries folding iron sights Im kind broke atm :)

i wanted to add that Im not entirly sure about the range of these optics, I dont rally plan on shooting over 100 yds so I may be off with these reccomendations.

For that money and that distance, go aimpoint pro. I have one on my personal rifle and haven't found one thing I dislike about it. We've sold dozens of these and only get good reviews or people coming back for seconds....

They're 400$ shipped with us

Does your budget include the rings/mount? If $500 for scope alone - Vortex Viper PST 1-4x. If the $500 includes rings - Burris MTAC. The 1-4x scopes with illuminated reticles are more versatile then the unmagnified red dots. At 175 yds you will appreciate some magnification.

So I have narrowed it down to these five:

EOTECH 512.A65/1 (cheapest)
EOTECH XPS2-0 ($50 more)
EOTECH EXPS2-0 ($80 more than the cheapest)
EOTECH EXPS3-0 ($155 more than the cheapest)
EOTECH EXPS3-2 ($155 more than the cheapest)

I was trying to find a place where I could compare the five of these side by side but had not luck.

If you do not plan on ever using them through night-vision, you can knock the last two off the list. :)

Yeah no night vision, didn't notice that

I just placed an order for the Aimpoint Pro, that 'GUN SAFARI' (poster above) put a link to on his site. $400.00 and free shipping for that unit is a nice price on a quality optic.

You really should give it a look, over the Eotech, although I realize it's personal preference for the manufacture.

A BIG SHOUT OUT AND THANKS TO GUN SAFARI!!!!

I spent a little over 400 and got the xps 2-0 and it's good for 100 yards no problem and CQB to boot.
