So I recently ordered a Sig x-5 AllAround and I've been told by Sig that they make that particular model to order, so it will be a 3-6 month wait unless they have a cancellation.

So this brings me to my question, what's the longest you have ever had to wait?

I put a deposit on an S&W M&P 9mm FS back in may. So this is the longest I have ever waited and still counting. I wish this would at least count toward the 10 day wait period.

I've wanted a 1911 since I was 12, and I still don't have one - so I guess that would be 38 years and still counting... :nopity:

Since march for an m&p9. The crappy part is that it is a production gun. Nothing special. And the fact that I have seen them come and go from other dealers!

27 days I'm pretty sure. Or 17 days longer than the 10 day wait. The gun store owner asked me to pay up front, then told me he didn't have the pistol on hand, so he would overnight it to his shop. But because of their hours Id have to come in in 3 days when they would be open. I went into the shop almost every day just to hear him tell me that "ohh sorry, it didn't come today, it was suppose to. Try back tomorrow." After 2 weeks of him giving me the run around, and refusing to give me a refund, it finally came (he didn't overnight it). Then after being out $650 for 2 weeks, I was able to start my 10 days.

My dealer ordered me a Kimber Warrior and he was told it was on backorder for about 2 months...2 months went by and still nothing. Needless to say, I got tired of waiting and got one off of gunbroker.com. I'm glad I didnt go for the Kimber TLE/RL because he was told those are on backorder for 6-8 months. Thats what I really wanted but I just couldn't wait that long. Im too impatient. I commend each and every one of you that have the patience to wait.

next up... w german Sig Sauer P220-E 9mm; who knows how long it'll take to get that one. short list wanting; long time waiting.

There's really no excuse anymore.
The RIA is a good gun and only about $500.
Put down that stupid violin and go get yourself a 1911.
You'll be glad you did.
Life is short and life is for livin', this is not a dress rehearsal.
:)

My longest wait was 45 days...30 days for a pawn shop hold and then the old CA 15 day wait period.

I've had to wait 7 days for shipping and pick-up combined, because I couldn't go pick up a weapon I had ordered on the day that it arrived. Sorry guys. Once it's in the store and you have the money, it takes all of about 3 minutes here in Louisiana. Maybe 4-5 if you aren't used to filling out the form for the background check, but the check itself usually takes less than 2 minutes.

LOL..I was watching a movie last week and one of the characters had a real cool Stainless Colt Officers model...(probably a prop gun)..I said to myself "I gotta get one just like that."...then I remembered I had TWO of them..one a custom build from the old KINGS GUNS WORKS....went and dug it out of the Safe. Haven't shot it in 20 years.

Pistols and Rifles...can't have too many of them...:43:

(I own 11 Registered Assault Weapons as well. ) Can't sell them :(

Be well

I waited 45 days! I bought a Kimber at a local shop then found a bargain on Gunbroker for a used Wilson CQB. I jumped on that and found out to my dismay that even though it was used it counted as "new" as far as the state was concerned because it was being imported into CA.
Man was I pissed about that.

3 months because of the stupid 1 in 30 rule...

However, Turners in Fountain Valley has a nice X5 for sale... I really want it, but it's a bit too much money right now. ;)

I waited for 9 years for my Colt Series 70 MKIV Custom. Its a HIGHLY customized colt with darn near everything you can do to a 1911 except engraving. Its hands down my favorite gun and I'll never get rid of it. Its worth about $2500 or so and worth much more to me sentimentally. I waited and waited for it to come along and its pretty much my unicorn. I picked it up for an ungodly price, way too low to even say, but eventually good things come to those who wait.

Edited: I just checked... it was three years after I started actually counting... it was more than that, but I can't remember how long.

I think it was about a year for my Seacamp back in 1995. 1st the waiting list to order, than a while once paid, a little longer to make, and than a little longer to ship....at least there was no 10 day waiting period! :-)

I had two different custom 1911 both apx 3.5 yrs wait, each.
I was on the wait list of another famous custom 1911 builder....apx 5 years after going on the list i received a call.....unfortunately the build would have costed way too much for me so i had to decline....when i first got on the wait list the prices were much lower.

Its funny you posted this.

I have a customer in CA that ordered one X5-All Around in 9mm.

I put it on order as soon as I got the check.

It shipped yesterday, so I have to say that your post is potentially off by a few MOA.

To answer the post though - I wanted a 229 Elite SS for a customer and we waited 9 months.

Haha, yeah that's me.

Sig told me over the phone that their inventory is low in the US right now and if they had to order it in from Germany it would take 14-16 weeks.

I was preparing myself for the worst but it seems I got lucky :)

I thought that was you but whenever discussing customers orders online I stay with the "anonymous customer 6251" bit as some do not want their items discussed.

And if anyone's watching - the 226 X5 All Round came in and shipped. Sig turned that order around very quickly because they have the parts right now.
