What are the best magazines/ best deals on magazines for the 10/22? My search- fu is failing me at the moment...

Tactical Inovations are the absolute best on the market. For 10 round mags, Factory mags can't be beat. I tried to talk TI into making 10 round rotary mags last year but, they said the factory mags work too good to compete with.

Thanks canonneer! Now I'm leaning towards giving LAK my business in a couple weeks, let him get the computer problems sorted...

Ive been waiting on an order from LAK for about 2 1/2 months now. Needless to say, Ive just about given up on that one.

That's not what I want to hear... Especially since I can't get certain magazines shipped directly from tactical innovations...

My bad, but I just thought you should know.

44mag will solve your problem with the TI mags, I ordered four of the rebuild kits to replace my broken ones. They will require a slight adjustment to your gun, but it's very easy. The polymer/fiber ones are the best deal, super strong and half the cost.

black dog, TI, or butler creek actually makes a decent mag. I've good luck with the latter.

seems like everyone wants to charge a "parts fee" or disassembly fee for some magazines... it's irritating...

The new Ruger 25 rounders are awesome. No jams, even on rapid fire. My brother in law has a few (out of the PRK).

What's the legality of buying these as a rebuild kit to rebuild my old butler creek mags(which sucked since day one)?

CC Gunsmithing

perfectly legal, as long as they do not come into the state as complete magazines... Bummer is though, Ruger won't ship them to Ca...

Seriously, they're doing you a favor. Consider it that the only other way to acquire one would be to drive out of state, pull it apart yourself and drive back. Still want to complain about a $1.25 disassembly fee.

After seeing advertisements for no fee magazine kits on here, then the contact not replying to PM's, yes, I'm a little irritated...

Not everyone... We never charge a fee for disassembling the mags we sell. Unfortunately we're out of the TI 10/22 mags right now. We do offer a disassembly service for mags you buy elsewhere.

Give it another shot, it's working again. Sometimes we get squirrels in the machinery.

Yeah we've been having some growing pains with our current hosting provider. We're moving very soon to a new provider with unlimited CPU and a 100% uptime guarantee.

We have 10/22 mags available. Unfortunately some of them (esp Butler Creek) are plastic and welded shut so we can't disassemble for shipment to CA. The Tactical Innovations mags are decent and can be disassembled, but currently out of stock. We never know when any particular item will come back in stock but if you set an email notification on the item the store will email you when it's available.

I was happy to see the BX-25's on Copes a few days ago. Their $1 fee doesn't bother me, but $10 to ship a magazine sucks. That's $36 for a single BX-25 or $62 for 2, etc... Better than Tactical Innovations, but still overpriced.

Anyone know a CA legal/friendly place to get them a bit cheaper? Regret now not buying at the gun show for $30 each flat out the door.

Don't know about mags, but two thumbs up for Exile Machine :) You guys rock! I needed rare hi cap mags, and they got me the kits and delivered in like 2 days from Texas.

I have been very happy with the Ruger factory rotary mags. I own 9 and 3 of the Alan Gaitor (spelling?) tri mag holders. You would be surprised how quickly you can change from one mag to another without looking.

So we can have 25 round mags on Cali .22?

I believe it's 25 round mags that have been rebuilt to only hold 10 rounds are legal.

BTW, the Cope's website actually charges $1 for the "rebuild" option. I just ordered 1, and the shipping was another $10.

Only if you had hi cap mags prior to 2000 then you could buy them to repair your old mags. As long as you have the same number of hi cap mags that you had in 2000 your good to go.

If you didn't buy them or own them prior to 2000 then you are limited to no more than 10 rounds in the mag.

What if I owned 2 Butler Creek 25 round mags, which I do? I can destroy them and get two new Ruger mags?

Well i took the brand new BX-25 (Factory Ruger 10-22) magazine yesterday to the desert. I shot 400 rounds through the one magazine in my 10-22 rifle. I was using "Remington Viper" 40gr copper plated bullets, CCI 40gr velocitors, and finally some CCI maxi mags.

The result: NOT ONE MALFUNCTION (JAM) WITH THE MAGAZINE!!!
i did have two "duds" with the remington viper bullets, but that was a bullet/rimfire primer issue.

Im happy to say that the steel lipped Ruger mag work 100% of the time for all 398 rounds (not counting the two duds). If you can (legally) get thosr magazines, i suggest you go for it. Plus they can be dissassembled for cleaning!!! By the way, i did NOT clean my gun or magazine at anytime during the test.
