Last part I need to order for my lower is a buffer tube kit. I'm looking at the Spikes ST-T2, but am not sure how well it will work with a long gas tube. Stock is HPArmory. http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showthread.php?t=472324

Is the spikes ok or should I go with something else?

"Spike's Tactical Mil-Spec 6-Position buffer tube/receiver extension with dry film lube, end latch plate, castle nut, Mil-Spec 17-4 stainless buffer spring, and ST-T2 tungsten filled buffer."

On my 24 inch uppers.I use the regular buffer and spring. The recoil is mild compared to my 16 inch models. You dont need the special buffers .One is a fluted 1/9 twist ,the other is a 1/8 twist bushmaster barrels.

I got that same Spikes kit. I'll be using it on my 20" build. I plan on shooting mostly 5.56, but also .223 some of the time. I hope it's not too heavy, but if it is I'll just simply go back to the regular carbine buffer I'm using now. And maybe use the T-2 on my 16".
