Not the best out there. But I love mine. Sweet shooter for the price. Only issue is the grip. A bit large for smaller hands and the mag release is funky (on the front of the grip). Not major issues just something to be aware of...Oh and you are a bit limited on after market stuff

metal gun that shoots good, functions properly backed by a company with customer service, plus reasonably priced. What's not to like? Great gun!

I just picked up a Model 41, 7" barrel and Clark grips; awaiting gun jail and very eager to shoot it! I've read and heard lots of great f/b on the M41. Here's the seller's pic.

Jubz,

Can you tell me what you paid for the 41 and where you found it? I been looking for one for a long time and can't seem to find anyone selling theirs.

Thx

I've had the 22A for a few years now and agree with BLFD1 it is very accurate. I've hit small scraps of wood (roughly 2"x4-5")at 56 yards after a few sighting in shoots.

EWB is right about the grip too. I wear a size 9 glove and the grip could be smaller. I have not found any smaller grips for it. S&W does make a wood grip for it but according to S&W its even larger.

I found mine on rimfirecentral's classified section, was lucky and paid $750 for it, minty 2011, 3 mags, extra Clark grips, optics rail and original case/manual/etc. This was the one:

I've also be checking out gunbroker and usually there are quite a few there, but you'll have to keep an eye out on condition and pricing. At their site, go to Firearms|Pistols then do a search "model 41" and quite a few will be there.

I was also keeping an eye out on the smith-wessonforum classifieds and it's been rare to see a M41 there.

I'm pretty happy with my 22A. No real reliability issues. Mine seems to prefer Federal, CCI & Wolf Gold ammo. I haven't had the best luck with the Winchester or Remington out of it. Not as smooth as a Ruger MKII or Buckmark but for the price it's amazing what you get.

Congrats.

Jubz sounds like a good deal you got. Around here they go for close to $1000. Enjoy your new plinker.

Thanks. Yeah, I was really pleasantly surprised the seller went down to $750 which included the extras. I've been shopping the M41 for quite a while and the pricing has been around $1K in various conditions.

I'm so looking forward to putting through its paces, and as a sidearm to tactical rimfire matches with my M&P15-22. I'll be installing a recoil buffer, a micro-green-dot, and found a source on Ebay for a drop-leg holster that'll fit. So the usual gun jail wait period and getting accessories during. :)
