View Full Version : Quickie: sending a shotgun back to Remington

The good folks at Remington sent us a shotgun to use for product development. When we receive these they are sent to an FFL and we fill out a 4473 and DROS and everything as if we were going to keep the gun (since usually we do). In this case, however, they want it back.
Can I package it up and return it to them or do I have to have an FFL involved on this end? Remington has an FFL, obviously.

You can just send it through an official UPS branch (or a UPS driver, via pickup, I imagine.) Some of the separate stores will send as well (I sent my Saiga-12 back to Cadiz from a Staples,) but they are not required to, it's up to them. An official UPS branch is required to let you send a firearm.
Anyone can ship to a FFL. And as you say Remington has one.
Also, you (private citizen, business, etc,) can ship long guns through USPS Mail without any issues.
Since it is a long gun you do not have to ship through private carrier. Only FFL to FFL can ship handguns through USPS Mail
