and got skunked - no birds over our area that day

I hate it when I end up shooting laughing mallards :D And now that I live and hunt in So Cal, I never see good ol Mallards anymore.

Here's another limit I shot today at Yolo Bypass/Vic Fazio NWR. I showed up at 11:00am, checked into a blind at 12pm and was limited out by 3:30pm.

Lots of widgeons up here right now, but the Greenwing Teal have all headed down to Socal so heads up down there, get your whistle ready!

Oops. no pictures but I picked up 4 mallards a bull sprig and a pair of spoonies at Volta yesterday. Shot the spoonies the last minutes as I was trying to fill out my limit with more mallards. The mallards showed up in force about ten minutes past shoot time. I had tons of spoonies and gadwall working as live decoys. Good day yesterday.

I'm headed down to Joice Island this weekend and am using the following spread:

3 sprig
6 mallards
6 teal
6 widgeon
3 gadwall
2 spoony drakes

Usually I use a lot more spoonies but I've heard down south there's still mallards and teal around.
