SR-71 BLACKBIRD

Tactical Machine Lower colored in pink by the daughter herself
DD LPK
Prince BB (just in case I want to thrown on a different upper)
Magpul MOE stock
LaRue mount
Aimpoint T1 clone
CMMG complete upper
Yankee Hill free float tube, Specter Length
Spikes SD-1 fake can
Black Dog 10 round mags.

Weighted in at 7.0 pounds.

I was going for low weight at first, since the first thing my daughter told me when she first held her first black rifle is, "daddy can we shrink it?". We sacrificed a little weight with the hand guard, and fake can.

I wonder if we will turn a few heads at the range when shooting this one?

Let me know what you think (Don't hate on the pink, I tried my darnedest to talk her out if it ;). ?

Not hate'n the pink. Rock it! looks great. might shave some weight on the front if you change out the fore end. if its compatible. but youll spend over three hundred on a daniels rail. way cool man. if you dont mind, how old is she? i took my son out on fathers day this year, he is five. my 17 hmr is still to heavy for him to hold up.

She is nearly 4 now, so it might be a while before she can hold it up on her own. I have a grip pod bipod that I will probably mount up so she can at least shoot it from the bench.

I'm leaning on having her take the hunters safety course before she starts shooting, but I'm not sure of the minimum age requirements.

yeah, its bench rest for my son as well. But grandpa has a chipmunk 22. only seen it once but its a lightweight, single shot, 22, breachloader. he might be able to hold it up.

looks good! Im sure your daughter will have a blast with it!

And whats wrong with pink? It was a mans color until those jerks at hallmark tried to convince everyone otherwise.

This guy wore a lot of pink!

There's not ENOUGH pink!

Kidding aside, it's her gun. Props to you for helping her make it happen. Props to her for making it hers.

You bought/built a 3 y/o girl a rifle she can't even hold? Jumping the gun a bit? (pun intended) Give the kids time... you know the odds are not very good that she will fall in love with guns and shooting like dear old dad. (right?) Just look around the range and count the teen age girls just hanging around. (lol)

That is very cool. My 11 year old grand daughter apparently likes to shoot. I have a picture of her with her new Daisy BB Gun. You just know I'll have to build her something nice.

Naw don't talk her out of the pink, when you take her to the range and she pulls it out hopefully the other few daughters around will see it and ask they're dad for one. More women in shooting is not a bad thing, I'm trying to get my 11 year old daughter to shoot my guns but she aint havin it. I'm not going to force her into it cuz i want her to want to shoot, so for now i just pray. My daughter seen a pink and black 5.56 and she said "dad if you get that gun for me I will go shoot with you" I told her first you let me teach you how to shoot then we can talk, she smiled and said ok. so I'll show her the pics of your daughters rifle and hopefully she will come around. If my daughter wants her gun all pink the thats what she will get if it makes her happy and want to go shoot with me. :D

She can hold it up, just not shoot it yet. Old dad will have to break it in for her :D.

Her black rifle is nearly as tall as she is

I know BRD has really set in. I'm already thinking of my son's build for him and he is only 2. Thinking I'll go with the Black Rain skull receiver. That thing looks wicked.

Dude, that thing was seriously fun to shoot.

I got my AR un-jammed as soon as I got home. I just had to put the buttstock on the ground and give the charge handle a good shove. The bullet that came out was nasty dirty. I don't know if it got that way from the chamber or if it was like that when it went in. I'll have to get a chamber brush.

at a range, are you nuts? Their fathers are near by, and you can be guaranteed they have guns! Much safer to do that at the mall :D

I only wish that my Dad had done something like this for me when I was a little girl. I did not discover that guns were fun till I was 31 and bought a handgun for self defense and was determined to learn how to shoot it and be safe. Thought it was going to be drudgery but hey, this is fun! So for me it was the other way around, I took my dad to the range with a few .22s and he told me all about his time in the 82nd Airborne, and shooting his M1 Carbine and Garand. So I pulled out my M1 Carbine and the smile on his face as he shot it and told me about how he went through training with it is priceless.

Start them young, combat the lies they teach in Cali schools, teach them respect and safety and that it is fun when used properly. And it is quality time for a father and daughter that will be remembered forever. My take on the pink? I love it! And I think I am going to do a few of my ARs like that.

I'm happy we could give you the .22 bug. Glad you got your AR un-jammed. Gives you an excuse to clean that bad boy :D

Oh forgot to say thanks for letting me shoot that sniper rifle you got there. That thing is super accurate. Makes me want to build another Rem 700.

Thanks all for the nice compliments. The daughter loves her black rifle. It will be in the safe for a while before she gets to use it, but at least she will have fun with it in the future.

My father got me started with a Rem Nylon 66 when I was a young-in, so I wanted her to get started with the .22 also.
