Looks good to me but, I am not a fan of the grip tape on the grip

If it works for you . . . . . fine

I just see no real need for it

Where did you get that ambi-safety selector?

Give us a complete parts list please. Unless you just want us to base it off looks/what we can see.

Id like to know what type of trigger, bcg, and barrel. Buffer, charging handle, and hand guard would be cool too.

From what I can see though, it looks like a quality build!

upper, just to keep it uniformed.
WOA, i cant knock it yet. i just havnt found a round that it likes yet.
its a 16 and from what i have leaned, the bullet is still gaining speed after it leaves the barrel. so at 100 meters, im leaving .25 all up to 2.5 groups. im not going for target comp, but more real world. so ill try to group ten rounds in a minute or less, so in that respect... its operating perfectly. when i three shot it, it does .75 to 1 depending on how hot. and i make alot of mistakes too. these results are with black hills 77grn BTHP. i have an 18 but it hasnt been fired yet. let me know how it does.

Looks great! Why do you run your bipod so close to your magwell and is that a handstop on your 9 o'clock rail?

i had to try it out to see the stability of it, it worked fine for me. i normally run the stick on it. but i adapted to the bipod as well for long range fun. everythings in the bag so whatever comes up, i can go play.

hand stop works well from Larue. with an AFG or a stick, its more of a positive hold on the rifle for me.

its a little heavier than other so it stays stable through rapid fire and im currently running it dirty to find a fail point. confident enough in accuracy that when its hot, its still pretty accurate.

BTW, just so you know, what I bolded in your above text is impossible. The very instant the bullet leaves the barrel (any barrel) it starts to lose velocity.

Ive heard that myth before. Some people think a heavy/long bullet is like a arrow coming out of an bow. Like its all over the place before it "stabilizes."

Dont believe those people. If a bullet shoots awesome .5 MOA groups at 500 meters, its going to shoot the same exact .5 MOA groups at 100 or closer. Some people honestly believe that a heavy bullet will shoot 1 MOA groups at 100 meters, then magically it will "settle" or "stabilize" and that it will tighten up to .5 MOA at 500 meters...LOL

Like I said, dont buy it. Mathematically impossible.

Only thing that would make that rifle any sexier is if it were 7.62 x 51 If there were anything but a Texas state outline on the magwell, that red, white and blue might be mistaken for french... lol

kemikalembalance
08-10-2011, 10:32 PM
there we go with the french again. lol. BUUURN! to me. ^^ Like i said, learning. I get it but then i dont. something else to learn as i get into reloading. all i know now is i can f'up a zombie target at 400 but i still have alot to learn about stabilizing myself, then the rifle, and stop moving.

I'm not big on tacticool rails all over. I think the bipod is a bit big and heavy and I don't gravitate toward FVG or tacticool flashlights on most firearms. I guess it really depends on the intended purpose of this rifle but, I'm not a fan of how it looks.

I'm ok with it, not drooling since I'm more into picking targets apart than either run and gun or SHTF guns. However I still think my Variax-2c 3-9x on an A2 carry handle over my carbine will serve me well for either of those, so good or bad take my opinion for what it's worth.

Bullet begins to slow as soon as it leaves the muzzle.

Hope this build will shoot a minute or less 5 round groups. When I slap the scope on my chrome lined A4 for load development, it approaches 1~1.5 MOA. I cheat though and seat the bullets out long.

I was under the impression LaRue barrels were very good as-is...I wouldn't be hot to swap one out. BTW, my friend has a WOA barrel on his varmint gun...VERY accurate as well.

IMO, it looks like you're trying to do too much with it. Larue stealth upper (= precision to me), and then go and add a piston retrofit? Why?

I guess since all the add-ons are on QD mounts, you can tune the rifle to your "mission/needs", but i still don't get the piston conversion on a precision upper.

The parts selection are very high quality though, and for that I give you credit.

It seems like kind of an odd combination, but that's coming from someone who likes parts/brands to match. The Daniel Defense rail looks kind of out of place on the otherwise LaRue chassis, then the Adams Arms piston thing on there(I know a LaRue rail won't fit over it). Don't get me wrong, it looks badass, but like I said it just looks odd to me :)

Very nice, though!

kemikalembalance
08-26-2011, 12:35 AM
thank you. and i went with the daniels for the weight. even the daniels Omega rail that larue had there name on was heavier with the barrel nut it uses.

Droppin Deuces
08-26-2011, 12:42 AM
Yeah, for sure. I think the reason it strikes me as odd is because I have a complete LaRue Stealth rifle, and I actually just sold an Adams Arms upper a few days ago. So it's like my two AR's got together and created your gun :D

Here's my LaRue, BTW if you're interested(with a stock that I'm sure looks a little out of place to others, too):

Couple things I'd change - one, I'd get a bigger case so I didn't have to remove the optic. I know Larue advertises a great return to zero system, but I prefer to keep my optic on my weapon unless it fails and I need to use my BUIS.

Two, I'd move the bipod further out from the center of balance (magazine well) to help stabilize the weight of the barrel/rails/coolguy stuff better.

Lastly, personal preference and you guys can call me a wimp and say I need to go to the gym or whatever, but I am not a fan of rail covers. I think they add up and put unnecessary weight on the weapon.
