bought it for $300, in case with 36 rd mag, fake suppressor, and all paperwork
bought it for the looks and love it.

Just want to hear from tec owners about problems and tips/advice for use.

I am working on a tech website for the gun for a resource to new Tec owners right now.
here are some pics

That thing is so illegal here we can't even look at it. :)

The Tec DC9 is known for jamming but that is mostly due to the gun being picky about the ammo getting shot through it. As long as you stick with a hard round nose FMJ the gun should function reliably, just avoid using flat nose or hollow point ammo and you should be fine. $300 is a heck of a deal :)

No jams since I did a total strip down and strip of the receiver, feed ramp, bolt (took the most sanding)

here is my tech site. (not the best, but at least it gives pointers)

To be legal in CA the Tec DC9 needs to have the magazine release configured in such a way that you couldn't release the magazine with just your finger and would need to use some sort of tool. The ones that I have seen for sale here have the mag release cut off and the person will say they use a flat head screwdriver to remove the magazine. Not to mention the fact we are limited to 10 rounds here :(. The 20rnd "rebuild kit" that you purchased from CA were most likely preban magazines and aren't supposed to be assembled while in the state.

That's how most gun owners feel while living in CA, but like most of them I was born in CA and don't know what it's like to live in a "free" state.

i prefered firing them to the m-11

nice and snappy not much recoil no trigger slap

find that guy that has firing pins and buy a couple extras cause intratec has been out of business for quite a while

its not that they are break prone more than any other gun its just insurance

I had one, it was garbage, hope thats not the case with yours but I have'nt heard anything that makes me think their quality has improved, more jam than jar of smuckers, good for a doorstop or a paperweight maybe but thats about it, again, I hope yours is good to go I'm just giving you my two cents..

I just can't find any factory mags. I paid a guy on GB $71 for what was supposed to be Intratec mags, he sent 1 factory and one aftermarket(which wouldn't fit in the gun-OR feed)
still trying to get a mag that will fit.

Interesting.. Your gun appears to have the TEC9 upper, but the lower is clearly marked DC9. Do you know if the gun is all 100% original?

Thats what I thought too,but it is original, some first owner people I know have the same type-all we can come up with is that this was the transition phase.

Transition phase probably best describes it - good call.
