He seems to be a common sense kind of guy, here is his view on Iraq.

I like Ron Paul too.
Wake me up, though, when you tell me he has $50M, or the ready ability to raise it - the starting cost of just playing "in the game".
These days it is unlikely that a senator or congressman makes it to the White House. There is a perceived "locality" associated with their politics that does not - for some reason - seem to rub off on governors. Govs are also perceived as being executives, something legislators cannot offer.
If you like Ron Paul, and if he gets traction, think Ross Perot.
Then think Bill Clinton. Ross Perot elected Bill Clinton.
Then think of the Clinton gun bans resulting thereof.

So we are going to be stuck with the front runner Sen. John McCain (R-AZ)?
Here is John McCain on Iraq.

I agree, but I think both parties have lately been sucking toilet water. I think the voters are super-disenfranchised, and I think the 08 election is the best chance for a 3rd candidate / party in a while. And I'm up for that if for nothing else than to piss off the other two parties. After all, isn't it kind of a done deal that we're gonna have a Demo in 08? I'm not actually looking it up right this second, but I can't think the last time besides Reagan that a 2-term president didn't get turned over to the other party when his term expired. With the current R in office, his administration is dealing with a war that sucks and everybody's pissed off about, meanwhile his fellow party members in Congress can't behave. Also, I can't think of the last time a Congressman won. It's always governors, it seems.

Hell yeah! He's defintely got my vote. I would rather have him than Romney or Guliani (both anti-gunners.)
I voted for him in congress when I was in the Navy and I'll vote for him in 08 no matter who's running.

Ron Paul would make a great president IMHO
I think he would do a lot of things to put this country back on the straight and narrow.
I would think if he had it in his power he would abolish the federal reserve bank and put us back on a non Debt based money.
Hey a guy can dream cant he.

He would be able to get a lot people in the middle votes as well as some democrats who feel their democratic choices would be too extreme.
Yep I voted for the current Pres while holding my nose
since the the two guys from the "other" party were
what they are. But I made a promise to myself this
time to vote for who I really want. Any way you look
at it the fav's on both parties tickets bite.
Too bad a third party didn't stand a chance. That's got to
change. As it is, Dr.Paul has my 0.02 in 08.

Ron Paul definitely has my vote as well. This country needs a Libertarian president now more than ever.

I think he said he would run as a Republican.
A guess any mods can feel free to lock/delete my topic about the same thing here: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showthread.php?t=46321
I'll copy and paste the same thing I said there here:

What does it look like our choices are going to be in 2008?
Hillary Clinton - "Gun Control" Advocate
John McCain - "Gun Control" Advocate
Barack Obama - "Gun Control" Advocate
In other words: A bunch of "gun-grabbers" who do not believe in your right to protect yourself and your family.
Right now, I say we try to rally support for Representative Ron Paul!

I agree 100%. In recent years, only 41 wasn't a governor.
As for Ron Paul, I'd like to see him run. He doesn't have to win to influence the race. While it may split the vote, sometimes it's worth it to send a message.
I think Republicans need to thin their herd of candidates and figure out who will carry the flag in '08. And at the same time, return to core Republican ideals.

I'm all for him. It'll be nice to have someone to vote FOR, instead of either sitting out the election or holding my nose and voting for someone who turns out to be a RINO.

Dear AFTF Lovers of Liberty and Patriots,
Good news travels fast!
You may have heard that the Honorable Congressman Ron Paul is exploring running for the Republican nomination in 2008.
Congressman Paul will be the only uncompromising defender of the Constitution in the race.
I can't tell you how grateful I felt, how full of heartfelt joy, and how much enthusiasm I felt when I heard the news of his Candidacy. I am 1000% behind him!
Ron Paul has stepped up to the plate because he knows what we all know: the noose is tightening, and there isn't much time if we hope to restore to Constitutional Government.
I called Ron yesterday to tell him I am on board to do ANYTHING it takes to support his campaign.
NOW is the time for the ENTIRE Freedom Movement, all Third Parties, ALL GOOD AMERICANS EVERYWHERE, from all political stripes and persuasions, to unite to overtake the weakened Republican Party. Stand firmly behind Ron Paul, and work to restore our Constitutional Republic.
Do not let partisan politics get in the way. No matter what your Party affiliation, we must support Ron Paul as the Candidate.
Everything in the movie, America: Freedom to Fascism IS Ron Paul.
In my conversation with Congressman Paul, I told him I'll make copies of America: Freedom to Fascism available for his campaign. We will spread them far and wide.
What better way to introduce him to the public than for him to talk to them in their own living rooms?! What better way to help awaken them to governmental intrusions into their private lives than to see it in their own homes?
Congressman Ron Paul is the man with the strength to stay the course until Enemies, Foreign and Domestic, are put in their rightful place!
There isn't a better man for the job. He has an impeccable voting record. He is "right on," on Freedom and Sovereignty issues.
In a time of universal deceit, Congressman Paul dares to commit the revolutionary act of telling the truth. How refreshing!
But now the work begins.
Ron Paul needs not just our "affirmative nod," he needs our time, energy, financial contributions, and willingness to see him win. He needs us to use our precious accrued "vacation time" to go to New Hampshire to knock on doors, pass out AFTF DVDs, to be as dedicated to helping him win as he is to running the Race. His campaign must be organized District by District.
The entire AFTF Network must focus on helping Ron Paul. You have already awakened a lot of Americans to the dangers we face.
NOW, help me, won't you, as I do everything within my means to promote the only HONEST, Constitutional American in the 2008 Presidential race.
With the right Candidate and a passionate grassroots effort, it is possible to take over a weakened Republican Party. I've told you many times of how we overtook the Republican Party in my Gubernatorial race in Nevada. I KNOW it can be done!
Well, HERE is that Candidate!
NOW IS THE TIME to join with me and support Ron Paul.
I've seen you at work. You can do this. WE can do this!
I Am Most Sincerely Yours in Freedom,
Aaron Russo
