Hi all, looked for a previous posting and could not find a match.

Am currently in the process of buying a few different brands of
Ammo to see which work best for me and my gun$.

Some of the ammo new in box looks super clean, but I have
one particular brand that seems to be "tarnished?" with little dark
spots on the casings. I have seen this in the 9mm and 45 ACP
from this manufacturer. The last box I received yesterday has
quite a bit on the "butt" of the rim - so much so, that the imprinted
ID name is light and dark in areas.

Question(s): Is this something to worry about? Is this "old" ammo?

Was bought from a high volume on-line seller, so figured it's
not "old" product.

Thoughts?

Cheers, V

Just cosmetic blemishes. I've seen it on ammo from different manufacturers. Pistol, shotgun shells and even my reloads have them. I'd shoot it.

Some manufacturers just seem to be like that. Some of the reloads I buy are like that. Nothing to worry about.

Yeah, I bought couple boxes of WWB and one of the boxes had 90% dirty rounds. I haven't used them yet but I really don't like the way they look.

Yep, that's the stuff . . . WWB. 90% dirty sounds about right as well.

The only thing that matters is how the target looks. :D

I don't know why but that statement made me think of a friend that described about fat chicks.

"When the lights are off, they all look the same."

Probably talkingabout federal haha it's fine some companies don't polish their brass and some don't as much as others because some put a coat of it on some just tumble. It should fire fine my fed xm193 was dirty as f some were half black but it ran just fine.
