After work I took a trip down to on Target to check function and just have a little fun. Its an all stag build so it is a very tight fit. Nice having a featureless build in this situation. It would have been a pain in the backside to pop the top and load this bad boy. It felt particularly evil being able to detach the mag. I was a bit surprised at how well the MM grip handled. Color me impressed. It felt pretty natural to me. 100 rounds later and three things really stood out about my new toy.

Monsterman did a hell of a job. The grip feels excellent and the gun was very controllable.
The clonepoint worked very well. Almost enough for me to sell my EOtech and buy a second one.
Detachable magazines are fun. I think I am going to convert all my rifles that way. So much easier to load. Not that a pinned mag is hard to load, but you can't match the convenience.

The only isse I had with my rifle was one of the magazines would lock back on the 9th round and leave the round laying in the chamber. Release the bolt and it would chamber the round then lock back again. Must be the mag. It's o.k., I just ordered a bunch of cproducts 10 rounders. Oh, I really like the YHM meat grinder. Adds just enough evil in its appearance.

+1 on the MM grip and the Meat Grinder. Both work great and I was very surprised that the meat grinder seemed to control muzzle jump quite a bit.

Do not be surprised if the cproduct mags do not hold 10 rounds. One of the other members had stated that if you take .20 off of the bottom of the follower , it will fit all 10.

Nice looking rifle. What did you paint the barrel with?

I would respond back but I am busy submitting a patent for a window shade camo paint.

Can you tell me what model clonepoint you have and where to get one? Since you also have an eotech it is nice to hear that you like it that much. I would like to get a good red dot but don't want to spend too much. Thanks.

Why would you pay that much for Chinese junk when you can pay less than half that for Chinese junk.

Are the chinese clonepoints really "junk" or just inexspensive? I ask because I spent about $69 for this Barska red dot and I think it is absolute crap. It won't hold zero for more than a couple shots.

I am not sure if I just have a defective one or if they all suck. They want $15 s/h to replace it and I don't even know if it is worth it to return it.

Well, I own two of the ones that "flicker and don't hold zero" and neither of them flicker or lose zero...You seriously think that the ones that guy is selling are made in a different place than the ones i linked to? Yeah right. The only reason it is more expensive at L33t is because he has more markup and perhaps had to pay a distributer in China for them and has to make his money back.

For those who are thinking of getting one, the ones I linked to work great.

But for those of you like Raptor and the above poster, go ahead and pay more money for the exact same thing if you want and it will make you feel better.

Well if that is the case then I just paid $60 premium for an ARMS style mount. Oh well, as long as it works better that the last POS I bought I will be happy.

I bought the 1337tactical one last year because there was a bunch of positive feedback on arfcom about it.

I don't really know if all these clone scopes are made in one Chinese factory to one quality standard - there could be multiple factories and different ways of cutting costs for similar products - so actual recommendations on actual products are important to me.

Now that there's a couple of recommendations for the cheaper ones, I may pick up another, just to compare and to dedicate scopes.

It's pretty amusing that they label and list it as an Aimpoint. Clones are a pretty grey area, but this is clearly over the line.

1337tactical sells the ARMS style mount for $43 shipped, so the rest is for their name recognition! :D

Id much rather pay a little more and at least have a warranty....Not to mention I can send it back for a full refund if I want...Thats worth the extra money...You try and get those chinese companies to do that for you

I can tell you after 100 rounds of XM193 down the chute, the 1337 tactical looked back at me and asked for more. Works great, the ARMS mount holds tight, worth every penny.

Its an ARMS copy (made in China), not a genuine ARMS mount.

I know. I used that in context of the conversation.
