I saw a thread last month saying the P226 German was coming to California. Now I look at Sig's website and it says not CA compliant. I mean it doesn't appear or function any different than the other P226s other than country of origin. Here was the thread http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showthread.php?t=454981&highlight=Sig+P226+German

Well that is the great state of california and all of our anti-civil rights leaders for you ;D

It is different than the 226 because it is made in Germany. That is enough of a difference for it to not be on the DOJ roster would be my guess.

I bet if it was P226 China, it would be legal in California.

It is legal in California.

Ammo Brothers and yernzie from here sell them.

They are not on the roster, at least there is no designation difference. I have a feeling that it isn't well known and some stores sell them and some would have a problem selling them.

Interesting.. Sig's web site said it was CA and MA compliant last week when I looked at it. Guess they changed their mind...

I checked the roster today and it didn't list that specific model.

what's so special about this sig?
It looks the same as the one I have, just without the rail

Whole gun made in Germany I think, not just the frame like the new ones with Exeter slides.

If you already have a german P226 then obviously this ones not meant for you.

For us who do not have a German P226 and want one, this is a godsend.

^ +1.
If you like Sigs and don't have a stamped slide version then IMHO this should be on top of your list. I'll pass on this one too since i already have a P226 (KA). Although i have a railed P220, i still prefer the non railed versions but would not hesitate to pick one of these up if i didn't already have one. The P226 was hands down my favorite handgun but sadly it has taken a back seat to the P228 that a friend sold to me a couple of years ago.

If your on the fence on this one, don't think about it too long. I believe there's only 200 (maybe 300) coming to the US.
