It is a bad form for anybody on this forum to buy anything from Fulton armory. After OLL fiasco.

I don't quite understand why. If Ruger is still selling in US without public apology then what is our problem with FA?

Wes of Ten Percent Firearms can explain this best.

Supposedly the DOJ got wind of the group buy from Fulton and called up Fulton and harrassed them into stopping the sale of the lowers. I believe they sent one box of lowers out but threatened to report the lowers stolen if they were not returned to fulton.

I think this is in the OLL History thread

No regrets with my 24" HBAR 1/12 Predator using Ultramax 40gr Noslers. Like I've said before, it kills squirrels dead.

Yes I suppose I understand how you mean that Ruger was a nationwide sellout, Benedict Arnold. Clint was just a weasel that lacked any testicles and caved in to intimidation.

Well.... as Sam said Wes would be the right peson to tell the story. Here how I understand it:

When the whole OLL thing started Wes wasn't the first FFL to sell them, however he was the first to do it publicly and he declared his intentions to do so on this forum. He managed to line up small shipment from Stag and large ( I think around 150-200) lowers directly from Fulton.
But CADOJ started pressuring them and they literally pulled shipment from UPS track. A lot of people didn't get lowers and Wes lost sales and at the time we all thought that there would be list in 2 weeks , so it was a huge blow to all of us.

It ended up happily Fultons were still sold in CA thorugh other dealer, Wes made himself a name and now has a good ( I assume and deservly ) bussiness, and you can buy OLL on every corner at any gun show.

So while there is a bad taste left I don't think it is such a big deal. Many CA FFL still refuse deal in OLL, so how we can blame out of state manufacturer who was threatend to be sued out of existance?

At least he didn;t go in front of the congress and said that nobody needs more than 15 rounds....

I can't find the paperwork, but I believe I paid very close to what's on their website right now ~$499 + shipping

Also, norcalvarmintHunter, it's extremely rare to see .5 MOA with factory ammo. I'm lucky to get .75/.8 with those Ultramax reloads.

Fulton lowers are not, and were not, hard to get, as Brownell's sells them. Any convinced out of state FFL could get them no problem. My first lower in late November 2005 was a low serial number Fulton.

Sorry, I guess we misunderstood eachother. I don't reload... I use factory reloads (Ultramax) or factory new ammunition.

Perhaps I will reload some day, but at this point, it's the one time killer the wife puts the kibosh on.

Go with a WOA upper if you have the extra $$, Fulton threatened Wes with teh ATF if he didnt send back the lowers Wes already paid for.

At least the guy could have called Wes but he just sent him a nasty email with a hollow threat.:(

Good to Know. I was *lucky* enough to get a Fulton very early on and then heard about Wes's issues. Would I still do another Fulton? Well, it wouln't be my first choice but yes- I'd do it again if in a pinch. But with the overall landslide of all the OLL craze I dunno how/why anyone would get into a pinch these days with the threat of "Two weeks" looming.

Yeah, I got a couple early on as well. If I were to buy another, I'd probably go with someone else.
