I see that the model 27 has been produced in many different barrel lengths and varieties. What exactly do the hyphenated additional numbers mean? I see the 27-9, 27-2 etc. Anyone know off the top of their head?

I would google it up but cannot decide how to describe these numbers.

The -1, -2 etc are engineering changes throughout the years. Do not have my book handy to tell you the differences.

Stick with a 27-2 and earlier if possible.

They are just called "dash" series numbers. I'm with above post. Stay with 27-2 or earlier. The 27-2 series will have the pinned barrel and recessed cylinder. Just a little nicer craftsmanship from a bygone era.

Cool, thanks. I didn't realize until recently that they stopped production on these! I tried my father-in-law's. It is sweet!
