I wouldn't mind owning one of these if I could get one where they were made with attention to detail.

I hate casting flash and when parts are cast and not forged this is a side effect one gets.

What vintage are your guns guys ? like the year made and such ?

My M4gery, with a fixed mag. The upper is presently on loan to my mom in Washington, but one of these days I'll get it back.

http://www.cheapspeech.com/Pics/Guns/Collection/RangeSet/200607//s_dsc07175.jpg

Assuming that the whole "attachable mag" thing ends up getting sanctioned and all that, I may ultimately go that route on it. But I'm not jumping on that wagon unless DOJ says something in particular, given that I do most of my shooting on my OTHER favorite rifle (particularly with the 30rd mags):

Well, tough choice. I first thought, my Garand. Then My Husky Swede M96. Then... Well, over 70 guns. Tough to choose. My first choice is technically not a 'rifle'. It's a smoothbore Northwest Trade gun, 20 gauge flintlock. 62 cal ball or I can build a 20gauge shot load. So instead this is it for rifles:
http://home.earthlink.net/~zahava.s/images/flintlock.jpg

A handmade .54 cal flintlock with a 44" swamped barrel. Total fun to shoot. My next choice is my Saginaw prime M1 carbine.

Hmm, I might end up with a new fave on or after the 20th...

All my rifles are my favorites, though. If they weren't, I'd sell 'em. :D

Thank you! That is an outdoor ping pong table, and what i believe to be a 30 round mag. I don't use it because it is very heavy and pointless, it was in an old box of magazines that i bought back in like 97 or 98. luckily for me, in that box were also some: detachable sks mags, (5) 30 rd AR mags, (2) beat up 30 rd AK mags, (2) brand new 20 round MINI 14 mags (SUPER FIND), a bunch of old sks stripper clips, a bent M1 carbine mag, and some other cleaning crap if i remember correctly.

I find myself now buying rifles to fit the magazines!

It's like picking your favorite child, they are all great in their own way.

How about this? Yes . . the A2 sights are better, but it balances really well and seems to be pretty accurate, and there is just something about those trianglular handguards.

hey nwg what kind of stock is that.where did you get it from and how much. i kinda want one

The stock is a JAE-100.

I got mine from the guys at West Texas Armory (Dan and Cynthia are good people) The start at around :o $550

The stock is VERY solid, it uses two Ti locking lugs to hold the receiver to the stock rather than the trigger assembly. It is very comfortable and fit very well in legnth of pull (adjustable) hand grip (adjustable) off hand grip (again adjustable) and cheek weld (one more time adjustable!) It is rather heavy, but a fully loaded M1-A with optics is not a light rifle!! All I can say is that if you do go this route, you will have to buy another M1-A.. You just have to have one with walnut and irons!

TZVIA- The stock on that flintlock is gorgeous! A fine weapon you have there!!

My favorite?? That is VERRRRRRYYYY had to say.... Next to my HK-91, I'd have to say it would be my 2 4digit Garands... both are great shooters and have won me about half of the Garand matches I have won in the last 6 years.....

Yeah, I don't really have a favorite. Each time I think of one I think of something else that I like just as much. But this one will always be close to my heart as my first rifle:
