May I ask, what is the purpose of those "textured finger rests?" What kind of "slippage" do they prevent?

The side panels are finger rests and the texture is to increase surface area, more contact with your fingers and or gloves. Plus it just downright looks better than being plain. :)

Any way to get 2 ambi's? I really don't need the left hand one's I really like these guards!
