Another thread about compition barrels got me to thinking about some kind of clamp on compensator for race guns and the like. Is there any legal reason why you could not make a pistol barrel with vertical grooves cut it it?

I saw a SIG Sauer P220 stainless at Bright Spot Pawn last year equipped with a tactical rail with a compensator attached to it. It was trick looking.:cool:

They already make them. I just saw someone's pictures of their XD with a barrel like you're talking about. They also make them for Sigs (I want one :cool: .)
