Hi, there. Was wondering anyone of u have experience with this UTG Law Enforcement SWAT Vest (http://www.dealstudio.com/searchdeals.php?type=id&q=d258438&ru=28907073)? I just googled it. I have to admit its price attracted me first. But I'm not sure for its quality. Any thoughts on it? is it worth the price?

i see a lot of airsofters using it... what do you plan on using a vest for?

Not a bad vest, carries a bit of everything. No soft armor in it though and it doesn't carry plates. I think they'd be alright for courses and range days.

i was actually looking at the condor version, but i might just go with a battle belt

http://www.tacgearstore.com/condor-tactical-multicam-battle-belt-p-281.html

the inner belt is separate, so need to consider the cost of that also.

UTG is the "airsoft division" of Leapers. (or at least that's who runs it in the US). They can have some decent things but I don't know how long those seams and stitches would hold up if you loaded it to full capacity.

Condor is a bit better, but still considered low-end gear. (thus highly attractive to airsofters). Again, can be good, but battle good??..... errr

IMO you should prob pick up a USGI MOLLE vest ($15-20 at most surplus stores) and then picking up actual MOLLE pouches from an actual tactical gear manufacturer.
TAG (Tactical Assault Gear) and Blackhawk can have some budget friendly options and are WAY more reliable than that UTG and Condor stuff.

I bought the UTG vest for range/classes.

Pros:
The adjustments work well.
There is plenty of room for mags, and it fits the magpul 10/30 pmags open up or down.
The cross-draw holster fits my M9 really well, the the draw is natural enough I didn't have to practice much with it.
Seams and construction held up to a full loudout of M9 and M4 mags with light and leatherman, but I only shot static with walks up and down range. Total time was about 4 hours.

Cons:
Black sucks in the desert; when I took it off my undershirt was soaked with sweat.
The vest shifts left with my M9 holstered, I have to adjust it often.
I feel ridiculous wearing it; it is so mall-ninja that I can't get over how stupid I look wearing it.

I wound up building a MOLLE II rig using a VLC, Linked up Condor battle belt, 4 M9 pouches, 3 Double M4 pouches, a condor Drop-leg, and a Blackhawk Serpa holster dremel'd to fit my M9. This rig cost a lot more, but overcomes all of the cons listed above. I Stuck to specialty defense (BAE systems) for all but the belt and drop-down, as I couldn't find those parts from BAE. I gave the UTG vest to the girlfriend afterward.

I picked up a forrest green utg vest at a yard sale about 3 weeks ago for $15.00. I like it, has lots of magazine pockets, pistol holster which holds my glock 22 perfectly, and lots of little tactical pockets. Pretty much one size fits all with the adjustment straps. Figure I would use it as a range vest to hold everything.

What mall will you be storming?

Just kidding. :shifty:

Instead of a vest, how about a chest rig /w some pouches? More ventilation etc. and you can add / remove any pouches unlike the vest you linked. Just my 2 cents.

I'm thinking of the CLBV-M5 FOR M14 that I found here (http://www.antipersonnel.net/fmco/001.html).

I have the vest portion of my tailored three piece suit... does that count?

I rocked an IOTV for a while (Can't beat MOLLE) but alas... They wouldn't let me keep it.
