What gun do you own that you love but just do not pay much attention to? Mine would be my Ruger Sp-101. Once the XD came into the family she just sits in her room.

Bad Ruger!

The one gun I dont really shoot as often as the others is my Savage .17 hmr.

Its a nice gun, but I took the scope off of it to use on my pellet rifle. Havent looked for a new one for her yet...

I've never shot my Colt New Frontier SA .22lr, a gift from my ex father in law, and never popped anything off in my grandpas H&R .22 blank starting gun either, the Colt looks 98%, the H&R looked like it had seen better days before I cleaned it up...

I'm the opposite of you, my SP-101 is my favorite gun and has been for a long time.

The gun that I don't pay much attention to is my Ruger 10/22 and I wouldn't say I love it either. I've had it for several years and as hard as I've tried, I just don't get inspired or have urges to shoot it so it sits in the safe. I keep it because it's a good gun that has potential and usefulness if I need it. 25-round magazines definitely make it funner to shoot than the ridiculous 10-rounders.

Most of the other guns I've had that I was bored with I've sold or traded.

MY FNP-9 recently...Just into the whole 45 shooting with my M&P and my friends Colt 1911. I seem more accurate with 45 which is terrible due to price of round. For rifles, it is easily my AR. AKs are so much more challenging to shoot.

Ditto with my M1A. Definitely my best rifle, but the ammo (which is cheaper than 30-06 but still!) and I've got some shyness keeping me from going to rifle ranges.

Ruger P89. I've had it long enough to still have the 15 rd mags for it that it came with. It's accurate and gives me no trouble. Yet, it just sits in the safe. I'm just spoiled I'd guess.

For me it's my cobray pm-11. Just before the ban it was either a tec-9 or mac 11. I must've been feeling gangsta at the time. 32 rd mags sounded cool, but after about 15 it gets heavy. Plus everytime i pull the trigger it feels like getting stung in the finger.
But it does get a lot of comments at the range.

S&W Model 19 round butt

Great gun, but the grip is a little small for my hands. I originally bought it for my wife because she doesn't enjoy shooting pistols, but she hasn't been to the range in years. I make a point of shooting it a few times a year, but it's not in my normal rotation.

I shoot it so well, I wonder if it comes with an auto aim hack. It's pure Sig: pre Obama, folded slide, metal guide rod goodness.

The guns I reach for most often are the ones on the bottom. The M4 and the Glock 17. But I like the others just fine. I just need to decide on an optic for my Recon rifle. Something variable and powerful. I plan on maker her a range whore. I use my M4 for tactical courses and runnng and gunning.

Since this post is in the handgun forum, my answer is none. I shoot all my handguns, though my .380acp does not get the attention I need to give it.

As for long guns, my M38 recieves little action and my Sears branded bolt action 12ga.(Stevens, as far as I have researched), also sees little use as of late.

My Grandfathers Winchester 25-20. Hard to find ammo for it. That and his old Iver Johnson .32 S&W top break revolver, which doesn't lock up correctly, which is why I don't shoot it at all. Everything else gets its fair share of range time.

Sacrilege! Burn this heretic at the stake!

I'm kidding, of course.

Have you taken a carbine course yet? Might get you to fall back in love with your AR. They are a lot of fun. Grey Ops 1 is a local school here in Sacramento offering them (I have no connection with them other than being a student). Runs about $160 a course, you provide your own gun ammo and safety gear. Lots more schools offering courses in the COMPETITION & TRAINING SUB-FORUM. Probably one right in your own backyard.

When you get to level two you use both the rifle and the carbine together, start doing lots of moving and dynimic type drills. Beats the heck out bench rest shooting. It is really fun. There few things called a "course" or a "class" that put an ear to ear grin on your face. Defensive gun courses do that big time. I wish I could afford to do it more often.

M1 Carbine - Bought it cash and carry from another calgunner who insisted it runs flawlessly.... but it jams every 2-3 rounds with all mags and all ammo I've tried since the first time I've shot it (including the bag of ammo he gave me). I tried swapping main spring out, no dice. I haven't gone back to it since to figure it out.

That would be my 9mm PT-92AF. Probably shoots better that I can, has never malfunctioned that I can recall, and, hey, I've got hi-cap mags for it too. But just never really liked the width/bulk of the grips. Now I have an FN Browning 9mm Hi-Power that I traded for, and it has slim, custom grip panels and I love it. Every once in a while I pull out the PT-92AF, look at it questioningly, and put it back in the safe. Just can't get rid of it; it's still part of the family...
And, yes, this is my first post, I just realized I've always read, but never replied....

I bought my USP. 45 4 years ago and a bunch of $60 magazines and a light adapter with the intent of using it as a duty weapon. That never happened so now it sits in the safe 24/7. If I splurge on. 45 ammo to go plinking it will go into my 1911's.

Might be worth it to drop it off at a good gunsmith for an appraisal of what it'd take to fix it?

My autoloader shotguns mostly sit. I started shooting an O/U about 5 years ago and being limited to 2 shells has made me a much better shot. And at this point, I hit more birds with just 2 than I do with 3, so why change?

So we have a Saiga-12, M1 Garand, M1 Carbine, and a bunch of awesome .22lr that no one shoots?
I really want a .22lr, I don't get how you could not have fun shooting one! So cheap.

I just shot my Garand for the first time last week. It is my new favorite rifle. The felt recoil was better than my AK somehow. I think because of the sheer weight. But I love it. The balance is perfect.

Tanfoglio Witness PS 9x19. Don't love it. Lots of muzzle flip, slide action is gritty, heavy and occasionally it fails to go into battery. Had a smith work on it, and it's still lousy. It sits in case SHTF and I need something in 9mm.

I have a few safe queens,
but the step child would have to be the 1960s pro modified 1929 hex mosin I inherited. At least it was very well done, even balanced with weight in the stock. It's been fired maybe 10-15 times since the 60s,and that was in the last year by me.

Edit: I'll post a couple of pic's here later.

My NP3 coated P7M8 doesn't get much love.

I bought one because I've always liked how they look, thought the action design was interesting, and wanted to try the "HK-oolaid."

Finally got it in my hands and liked the looks and was amused at the internals when I took the grips off-- neat. Took it to the range and found I don't like shooting it. Sure it's accurate and reliable but it it doesn't sit very well in my hand no matter how I grip it and I find myself having to readjust my grip every 3-4 shots.

I'll probably stick it up on the classifieds here soon as I have a hankering for another precision rifle and an AI AE (or maybe AW) is calling my name...
