Dude, that is freakin sweet! Congrats man. I wanted one too but I couldn't justify the cost and in all honesty, I couldn't really find one lol. Have fun with her. What kind of sights are those?

Great stuff. I never liked the full rail on a 1911 but this springer can pull it off. GOOd purchase.

She is beautiful isn't she. I Personally think it's one of the nicest looking 1911's out there, if not the best.

Aero, the sights are Harrison precision.

Whats nice is the gun also came with a brand new surefire x300, a bladetech holster, a 10-8 flat trigger, and a trigger job done by th springfield custom shop, the trigger breaks like a small glass rod at like 4.5 LBS, gonna shoot it at the department mobile range tomorrow!

I also pick up my HK45 Monday, I cant wait to test that sucker out too!

That is one bad @$$ looking 1911. Even if you over paid, the point is that YOU are happy and that is all that matters.

If I ever get into 45ACP, I'm getting one just like that.

I'm 6'3. The taller you get, the weirder stuff gets! Plus if you look at your hands, your middle finger is longest, so that means I'm proportionally normal!

I'm 6'4" and my toes aren't misshaped... :P

I really like the TRP for many reasons, but I didn't care for the one I shot. I wish I could like, but for the money I can't get past the bad range experience. Now, the Colt Gold Cup I shot was fantastic.

However, I'll likely pick up a SA Loaded model, as the price seems right for what you get.

Very nice! But $2k is a little steep IMO. Not for a great 1911, but for that particular one as I've seen lately the same (very low round count) TRP Operator full rails sell for $400-$500 less in the classifieds.

Either way, as long as your happy with it then that's all that matters.

Congrats on the 1911, very hard model to get in the Bay Area. Before it can even get to the show room its already sold. I would have paid that price too, and your right as long as you have it!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

What specific model is this? Ignorant to 1911s.

Very beautiful piece. I am always tempted to get into 1911s when I see something as nice as this.

There are quite a few people who like to include toes and feet in photos of their guns. Not sure why.... :D

It is a bit steep but I think that included a brand new X300 and a Blade-Tech holster so that's worth about $300or so. It's still a premium but not too terrible for a holy grail gun. It could be worse. I was looking at Ted Yost 1911s today and they go for $5000 and up!

I always say: It's expensive being cool!

It's a Full Rail TRP Operator. They don't really make them anymore, or if they do it's either a special order or pretty rare runs.

Sweet gun. Where did you find it?

I found it on ar-15.com forums. It was up for a day and I snatched it. I originally was trying to buy a NIB one for $2000, but the guy didnt want to let it go and I'm glad, I think this was a better deal and this one only had 300 rounds through it.

I just got done shooting it and it shoots beautifully! worth every penny.

Does anyone else make a full rail and bull barrel that you know of? I've never seen anyone BUT springer try it in the first place.

I have shot a Full Rail TRP and a Half Rail TRP (I have some well to do friends!)... I've had a bad experience with both of them!

The bad experience was showing me that my RIA/MS .45 is fun to shoot, fairly accurate, but it is a world of difference with the TRP's :p

I'm jealous!! (and that makes me feel bad again)... but you go ahead and enjoy that TRP of yours!!

One day... I'll budget for a TRP or something similar, and that will make me a happy guy.

Bay area gun vault have one for $1,750. Was down getting some supplies. After an emergency trip back to Ireland and paying some medical bills for my folks I couldn't afford one ( ammo for my XD, M9 and .308 nearly wiped me out) roll on pay day lol.

Oh, thatís OK.

I have over $3K in my Les Baer. Iíve never get more than $1600 for it if I ever sold it.

But I have that much into it because I shoot the hell out of it, ruined a barrel with a squib, and just had it re-finished.

The more you shoot it, the less stupid the excessive price becomes. Then it become a matter of cost per round fired :-)

Iím still ahead of anyone cost wise that had bought a Hi Point and hasnít put more than 500 rounds through it.

I also have a non railed TRP, and you paid only a few hundred more than me. So relatively Iíd say I paid just as much on that one too. Again, another high round count gun. So who cares.

When I was looking for one I couldn't find it anywhere, and the first one I saw I didn't second guess myself.

It's nice when you land something you want without compromise.

$2000, you could have got a custom 1911 gun for that price! Another $1500 you could have got a .308 rifle or les baer 1911!

She's beautiful. Will she be a working gun or wrapped in velvet and locked away in a hermetically sealed cryo-chamber?

P.S. Who cares if you overpaid when you are trading soon to be worthless paper currency for something like that of real value!

07-29-2011, 2:54 PM
Looks good. Glad everything worked out. You got a good deal in my opinion. Light, holster, trigger, and trigger job would easily cost an extra $300-400. I think you got a good deal. Let me know how it shoots. I still havent shot mine.

$2000, you could have got a custom 1911 gun for that price! Another $1500 you could have got a .308 rifle or les baer 1911!

I specifically wanted a full rail single stack .45 with an awesome reputation, this is pretty much the only one I know of that has all of that. I have a .308 rifle, and no Les Baer guns have a full rail.

She's beautiful. Will she be a working gun or wrapped in velvet and locked away in a hermetically sealed cryo-chamber?

She will be an absolute working gun, I don't believe in safe queens.

Thank duramax, it's shoots amazingly well, very comfortable and just feels right in the hand.

if you were going to spend that much on a pistol from SA i would say get the professional railed version.

realmswalker
08-01-2011, 12:48 AM
The professional railed version would have been about 1000 more, not to mention a one year wait, and i wouldnt have been able to afford my HK45. A professional is nice, but a TRP is all i need.

For the peeps saying U shoulda got this or that, this isn't about practicality or an investment. It's about desire. I've got over $6g's in mods for my V-Max that was originally $4,000. I've spent $4,000 in mods on a $2,000 Suzuki. In my younger days I've
blown $$$$ on a girl I knew wasn't long term. My Series 70 Colt Combat Commander has over $2g's worth of mods into it. Like I said it's about desire.
