I haven't gotten far with it yet, I still need to make a mold of it. What do you guys think?

It has a thumb rest (right and left) and also a trigger guard.

If you skipped the trigger guard, I'd by one out of the mold from you.

Looks good. The only problem I see is the rail at the bottom of the stock os blocked.

It looks pretty good on the PRS, nice job!
I'm not sure about the trigger guard, I think Gene is right maybe it would be better without it.

I like it.

Have been looking at that stock for one of my Stags, being able to purchase one of those grips might seal the deal...

I would have to agree with the others. I have that stock and would like a grip alternative such as this with the modifications already mentioned. Remove the trigger guard. Raise the rear portion so that access to the rear rail is not blocked. I think that you have a winner.

The more I look at these pics, the more I want one. That would look really nice on my 18" rifle. I would get me a muzzle break and stick that bad boy on my rifle real quick. Free up that mag :)

The thumb rest looks very good. I also kinda like the trigger guard but I can see the other posters point. Just free up the bottom rail and put me down for one.

Nice job. Kinda reminds me of an FN P90 without the thumbhole.

Why not bring the area that looks like a monster man down to a almost vertical angle so it looks closer to a bell and carson thumbhole stock that has been filled in.

I wish I knew how to photochop.

So out with the trigger guard then. I'll do the mods today and show it again. My original mock-up had the rail on the stock free. I'll cut that off then. :D

Thanks for the input guys! :D

Looks great. I like the integration of one long piece, makes the lines flow more smoothly than the monsterman grip. From that point of view, integrating the trigger guard into it might actually be a good thing, even though it creates all manners of logistics problems (installing this stock would require pins in addition to screws, which would be pain in the lower receiver).

If the price is reasonable when it comes out, put me on the list.

Also, please consult with Matt at Ironwood Designs, and Grant of U2 stock fame. It might be wonderful to make the whole thing (both this clay add-on and the frame of the PRS stock) out of one big Walnut piece. Would make for a spectacularly good-looking rifle.

Do you have the link for their websites? I'll look them up today. I was thinking that I could save me some money if I integrated a trigger guard, but then there's the pin and the screw. I'm still making one with a trigger guard and one without.

Here's some revised mock-up.

I hope you don't mind, I did a quick and dirty photochop to see what it would look like in black on my rifle.

With the original one the rail cover will be blocked. Unless you take it out first and then install the grip. By doing so you won't be able to put the rail cover back in.

It's really not a problem if you think about it, but I guess for some people it will be.

I like to get some more input and the more the merrier.

Maybe 2 designs?

The original design witout the trigger guard and the revised one?

What do you guys think?

Also I'm not really good with molds, anybody wanna help and split with me? I live in the east bay. With my photography business I really don't have too much time to do this.

PM me if you want to help me with this. If not it's okay:D

I can see the original one working great as well as the original design without the trigger guard. Now that I think about it blocking the rail cover won't be a problem. I do not take it on and off anyway. Once I took it off I left it off.

You create a supporting core the screw mount and all and I think you could probably make them out of carbon fiber pretty easily. I've seen lots of guys make their own CF car parts and some of them turn out pretty sweet actually.

If it works shoot it!
Gotta give a guy credit who has a bottle of Shmirnoff, a bowl of nectarines and a blender along with his rifle on the kitchen sink.

I should have outlined my addition but I just did it in black so as not to confuse your photochop-fu.

Good job there. I think i will have to purchase a magpul prs stock if this grip goes into production. I like the thumb rests, I think it will give the shooter a better grip and handling. Good JOb!!!

Got it, I'm in the process of designing a couple more, one with that kind of grip angle.

I guess I have to think of a name for the darn thing now (the elephant?? ) LOL.... cracked me up.
