Custom David Clements 1931 S&W Heavy Duty converted to .45 Colt.
A little history on this revolver..

I bought this 1930s S&W .38-44 Heavy Duty a few years ago, these revolvers are N frames that were originally chambered for the 44 special.
The .38-44 was the father of the .357 magnum. They used the large N frames to handle the pressure of the .38-44 round.
Since I already had several S&W .38/.357 magnums I decided to send it to David Clements a well known gunsmith of caliber conversions on S&W revolvers and Ruger single actions.

I waited almost two years for this to get back to me.
The original barrel was re-bored and rifled, the cylinder was bored, ejection star re-worked and then heat treated, new custom made front and rear sights, and completely re-blued. Kearsarge Style grips are by Keith Brown.

I fired 12 rounds when I got it back a couple of years ago and it just sits in my safe.
