Maybe this is some new wave movement to turn the C&R gallery into a wiki?

got it from a fellow calgunner in the sell forums. its a standard 4x24 AK POSP

mount is a Molot SKS mount

both can be bought from here

scope (idk why the filp vs rubber cover is diff in photo. guy i got it from got it from kalinka as well)

http://www.kalinkaoptics.com/rifle-scopes/posp/posp-4x24-w-black-finish-400-meter-rangefinder-rifle-scope-ak-version.html

the mount is here
http://www.kalinkaoptics.com/firearm-accessories/side-rails/molot-sks-original-rail-with-rivets.html

looks like i got their last one in the flordia warehouse as it says 2-3 weeks lead time now. it said instock when i ordered it on thursday and had it in hand in California monday. (usps priority, default shipping iirc.)

other guys have used the SVD mount with it as well and had great results. the AK is slightly higher and possibly more off set to the left but im not sure on that. the offset these always have even on their proper rifles (AK's) afaik will ruin or make windage adjustments at greater ranges a need but i've not heard any complaints for 100-200 yard use and thats all i care about.

will post a better report once i take it to the range and zero it out next weekend

for 200 yards ill stick with the iron sights. I got a new slide cover that has a picatini rail on it and I use a niko sterling scope and I can hit 600yards with ease but the problem is I had to weld a bullet cassing deflector to it cause when it ejects it was hitting the scope (long/big scope) and the deflector broke off cause the metal it was made with was cheap, so I saw this and it looked like something that is more designed for the sks. Thanks for the help.

yeah its a trade off, its offset far enough to the left that it does not need a deflector but from what i read doing this will cause you to need to adjust windage and drop when at various ranges.

i think if one was to work with a POSP enough on a rifle they would beable to dial it into whatever range you want but from what i've read and heard anything past 300 is more often than not not going to work not without modifying the rifle and running handloads in it at least. but if your going that far you'd be better off with a SVD variant as 7.62x39 is just not designed for long range its a mid power cartridge after all in .30 cal so its going to loose speed faster than full power .30 cal rounds of any sort.

i do like the POSP's siminov reticule though its got windage markers 0-10 both ways and the windage clicker is labeled 0-10 + and minus so figuring what to adjust for should be quick and easy once i have the scope zeroed in

Russians are top of the line because well that is the country that created them. Sino-soviets and East Germans and N. Koreans are very hard to come by and really a good collector items. As far as shooter Chinese and Yugo are you best. Rommy's and Albanians...ehh I personally consider them the lowest because of the material and well the countries. Chinese are best if your on a budget to be honest with you.
