In the latest (July) CRPA Firing Line magazine, there are some corrections that need to be made regarding SB 610, a bill on carry license policy.

First, the "Bill Status Update" on page 17 indicates that the bill is authored by Sen. Fuerer when, in actuality, the bill is authored by Sen. Rod Wright.

Within the analysis summary, the Firing Line states that the bill "would also provide that the good cause requirement would be met for any applicant who is a member of Congress, a statewide elected official, or a member of the Legislature." This, too, is false; that text was amended out on April 13, 2011.

Please note that SB 610 is a very useful bill that, as it stands today, should be strongly supported. For more information on the bill, please see this link (http://leginfo.ca.gov/cgi-bin/postquery?bill_number=sb_610&sess=CUR&house=B&author=wright).

looks good. caps fees at $435 (plus ccw class)? assuming all are maxed out. Is the possibility of a four month wait normal before notification of whether or not you have good cause?

It can be; currently varies from jurisdiction to jurisdiction.

is the wording still in it that "protection and self defense" is deemed good cause?

If we win on richards v. prieto in the 9th circuit....the jurisdiction issue will be eliminated....it will be equal throughout the state. sb610...is the icing on the cake. I pray jerry brown signs it. Its on his desk.

If im not mistaken as stated before...richards v. prieto should eliminate the problem regarding good cause AND moral character...if we win in the 9th circuit....I cant wait to see the decision..
