Along with the Benelli MR-1 in 5.56, I'm also looking hard at the FNAR in 7.62. As you probably know, the FNAR was developed from the Browning BAR hunting rifle.

Is the FNAR in its standard configuration Calif. legal? It does have a pistol grip but also a 20 inch barrel (fluted or heavy) and no Rambo gizmos on the muzzle. I'm sure many in this forum are familiar with it or even own one.

Semi-auto? Yes
"Evil features"? Yes two. pistol grip and detachable mag.
Assault weapon by California standard.
Solution= lock magazine or purchase the one without s pistol grip

I really like the looks of them but some people don't.

This is the rifles stock configuration, the picture above would be CA legal

I don't have one (yet). I've been looking for a while. The price on the rifle and the price on mags makes me walk away every time I go to purchase it.

I still like them just not $1600.00 worth

i hve recently found this rifle quite interesting... gas piston and a rotary bolt, for the same kind of money as an AR10, does anyone have one?

Yes

response of the year right here!

I have no hands on experience with em, but Ive heard good things.
The pistol grip version could be CA legal with a mag lock, otherwise go for the traditional style stock and you are GTG

The interesting thing is this has been a very proven design and would be worth it in my opinion. May be a good alternative to the M1A.

My only complaint is that it's a ***** to clean. There are a lot of little pins and to loose. Other than that it's pretty close to perfect straight out of the box.

Amazing rifle, what else would you expect from FN.

Last time I heard, this gun does not have a chrome-lined barrel.

Kinda a requirement for semiauto

It is chrome lined. Not sure about the Remington counterpart though. I think it's called SXAR, it's more CA friendly but they do not warrant the accuracy like FN does.
