Yes, not exactly an ACOG but it appears to be fairly well built. I bought 1 but have not had time to try it out. I guess it really depends on what you want it for, have you had any experience with the ACOG's? Is there anything in particular that you are trying to achieve?

I have used an ACOG and it was awesome, more than perfect, but for my bugdet, no haha i just need somthin that will stand up to normal/range use and keep zero no frills but im lookin for 4x magnification and similar design (design<performance)

Seems ok but im looking for something more robust, it seems that the people buying this particular piece are airsofters and pellet gun enthusiasts, i need something with at least a little reputation :) thanks for the link though

Do a search for the Lucid, I paid under 300 with a 2x and I know they have a new magnifier but I do not now the power might be a 4 or 5. Like I said I have bought 1 but have not used it but the reviews look pretty good.

Im very tempted to buy one right now, scoped a couple reviews on ARF and it looks like exactly what i need, just doin price matching right now, thanks!

I was going to make the identical thread lol. Love the look and features of an ACOG, and I was going to ask "dammit, do I have to break down and just buy an actual ACOG?"

It seemed like all the reviews for ACOG style or budget scopes were bad, like the NC Star replicas and such.

You get what you pay for......especially with glass.

I've learned the hard way thinking I could shortcut my way to awesomeness.....boy did I waste time and money. I have now seen the light.

Check out Bushnell's Tactical Elite 1x32 Red/Green T-Dot Riflescope. Though I've never owned or used one, I have looked through a customer's optic and was impressed, however it's a bit on the heavy side. Check out the pics and reviews...

$146.22 shipped from Amazon.com:

I agree, do you have to have an Acog type? Why don't you go with a good used EO Tech? You might be able to find one in your price range, I have a 517 and it works great.

If you're not stuck on the facog looks, get a decent 1-4X scope. It will achieve the same thing with some variable magnification and you'll get a hell of a lot more quality for your dollar. Primary Arms makes a good one for less than $200 with mount. Just sayin'....

Best bang for bucks "Fake-cogs" in the market. .

Most ACOG look a like will come in as a 1X or a 4X fixed with their own unique reticle. I personally can't live with the Chevron reticle on my ACOGs.

I would go with $300 Burris AR-332

Does Primary Arms make an option? They make well rated, nice quality budget options and seem to mimic many of the popular brand name models.

+1 for the Burris AR-332. I've got one on my S&W MP-15 and love it. The reticle can get a little busy, but for around $300, it's money well spent

Last year I grabbed this ACOG wannabe:
http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/cb.aspx?a=587982
Yes, it's from FM Optics, which does not have a good reputation, but it looked just like the ones Primary Arms were selling last year:
http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=2&f=325&t=187858
Page 2 has pics. You can see it looks just like the one from SG.

They were getting rave reviews, but sold out, so I took a chance on the one from Sportsman Guide. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality. The 4x zoom is crisp and the reticle is not overly obtrusive, but it does have cross-marks for quick distance adjustments. Also, those three picatiny rails can be removed so it doesn't look so busy.

I believe it is from the same manufacturer that was making them for Primary Arms, but with a different reticle. Anyway, give it a shot and if not happy, SG will gladly return your money.

the 'good' acog wanna bes out there are 300 or more.
you can get issue acogs used for 8-900 bucks.....

i played the game with cheap red dots spending hundreds on junk, eventually dropping cash and getting a real eotec. just do yourself the favor, if you want optics, spend the money once it will save you money (broken scopes wasted ammo for sighting in etc, wasted trips to the range etc..)

Agree. Get the Burris Tac30 1-4x or if you really like ACOG type Burris AR332 as already suggested.

I have the Barska "acog" and it's been pretty solid for me.
