The 100 yard target doesn't look bad to me. Remember a rifleman can shoot 4 MOA so that'd be 4in @ 100 yards. Looks like you're dang close.

Scope mount is nice no movement, it replaces the stock cover and it uses 10 screws with clamps behind it to keep it in place. It's made by DSA same company who built the rifle. This was my PDW trade chead. I think a muzzle brake and a trig job I'll be gtg.

I see your FAL and I want it.

Obviously, I have a gun addiction problem. Every time I see a new gun, my brain just goes... "I want it!"

Your barrel is threaded and sized for an AR15 brake and not the usual FAL brake so hopefully that is what you ordered. The one on the barrel will come off fairly easily. I put an old leather belt in the vise and then the barrel and clamped it tight. Used an open end wrench that fit the existing flash hider on the flats and turned it off. If you need more leverage add a cheater bar but I didn't need to go to that extreme.

I have the exact DSArms FAL you have, they told me that my barrel is threaded 1/2x28. I have been looking for a good brake for a while, haven't found one that will work for me. Post pics once you get it installed, or let us know if it doesn't fit. I would appreciate.

As for the PWS FSC FAL, I will say that my FAL barrel didn't have the shoulder needed for the crush washer to seat against. I used red loctite, set it where I wanted it and left it to dry. After around 100 rounds it hasn't moved and is still tight enough that I can't move it by hand. Good enough for range use but you may want something more permanent.

one of My concerns here is did DSA give me the right info when i called, i'm a little confuse cause the post above says he has the same FAL but was given a different size..any ideas on how to find the right specs.

My die was adjustable, so I adjusted it enough so the flash hider tightened up it the right position, it took some trial and error. I then used red locktite. My Fal is a Steyr kit on an Imbel receiver, but came with a sporter barrel.

PWS is super nice on the FAL. Is a bit loud and your lane buddies will hate you.

kicks like a mule.

Many .308 loads can do that, especially if you are used to milder calibers. I got the DSA short muzzle brake which I liked on a friends rifle and another from BC Engineering (the Z Pulse) that looks like it belongs on the end of an anti-material rifle (I plan to shoot 190-200 grain loads most of the time). My rifle is still in the build stages, so I look at threads like this with great interest. There are many new brakes that incorporate flash hider functions that have BATF letters that specify it is categorized as a brake.

If yours came with the AR15 style it is threaded for an AR device. I bought a Wilson AR15 muzzle brake and drilled out the opening to clear a .30 bullet (i.e. greater than .30 so the bullet doesn't strike the device.). The drop in recoil was noticable for me as was the increase in noise.

I considered that. Was drilling the hole precisely difficult?

No because the existing hole for the .223 bullet is your pilot hole.

That was me...endlessly tinkering with my FAL. I bought a 1,000 rounds of Nato-spec brass, but it was already primed and had the neck sealant in it...so I have been trying to find a good hand load to fire-form all 1,000 pieces (3 moa best). It shoots like crap until I reload it the 2nd time and all the sealant and primer is gone.

BUT I found that if I just bump the fire-form brass back a .001-.002", my groups shrink to 1-1.5 moa.

I bought a 2nd bolt & carrier that I will be TIG'ing to tighten up the lock-up and throw in actually using some better pills (besides the bulk hornady 150 FMJBT), I will be below 1 MOA...better than than my hunting rifle!

I didn't think that the muzzle device would affect the accuracy much..but now i am curious.

FAL's with oem or correct repro barrels don't have shoulders as they don't use crush washers. Their fh/brakes install with a 1/2" bolt and a wrench...correctly tightened they don't shoot use, but a drop of blue loctite is still ok.

Intalled the brake last night , did hand tight till the washer touched rear part of thread a little loctite, 1/4 turn to get it lined up. I don't need to totally crush the washer right?
