Any companies that make a replacement buttpad for an A2 stock? Don't need it to absorb recoil, but to make it a little more comfortable since the factory one feels like a cheese grader.

Cheesegrater......................You know thats a perfect description. You can do what i did and hit it with a power hand sander. Took off the pointies and left enough grip.

Im thinking you could always try a slip on if you did not find anything??

I have the same problem, plus a lack of length. Would prefer to avoid the slipon which can slipoff. An extra inch would be beneficial.

An A1 stock with the trapdoor has a smoother buttplate and should fit the A2 stock easy.....I went the other way , put a A2 buttplate on my A1 stock just to get a better shoulder grip......it fit...it works.......

Yeah, somehow I knew that was going to happen. I even re-worded my post 3 times to avoid the potential.......

If I recall correctly, Midway sells a spacer that adds 1" LOP to an A2 stock.

No one really makes a good one, I tried to get one of the big guys to produce one but there engineer just yeah, yeah'ed me. I'm going to be switching to Magpul and using their "enhanced" pad on my .308 because cheese grader is exactly how I've been explaining it too. This big bastard stings a little after 40 or so rounds.
