I broke the paddle off of my original bolt catch and had a tactical bolt catch installed. Now I would like to get a Magpul BAD lever and I am not sure if it will work with the catch I have. DO I need to revert back to a standard single paddle catch or will it work with the dual paddle design I have now?

This is what I bought

Thanks in advance!!!

I have both but havent tried them both together. My thought would be no. I would most likely just go with the BAD and the Std catch.

If that's the actual bolt catch in your link then I have believe you're going to need the original paddle-type bolt catch. Take a look at the BAD lever and you can see how it fits directly over the catch (paddle). The tactical bolt catch has a horizontal bar attaching the secondary paddle.

I doubt the Magpul BAD lever is going to work.

Just FYI.. don't forget about Phase 5's nice all in 1 BAD levers (http://www.phase5tactical.com/products/ar15-m16/ebrv2-) no bolt on

If you are replacing the bolt catch, I'd go for the Phase 5. If not, I like the magpul.

From the look of it on their site, I was thinking I would have to get a standard catch. Its only a few bucks, so no major issue other than having to swap out the tactical catch.

Thanks for the quick replies...

but with the Phase 5, you can get the catch AND the bad level in 1 unit. They are awesome

That looks cool and I guess it would not be too much more money than a new standard catch and the Magpul BAD.

Hmmmmmm decisions, decisions...

I have both the BAD and the Phase 5 and frankly, the Phase 5 is more $$ but it is a nicer execution, less parts, not a bolt on.

It's hit or miss with Phase 5. Biggest complaint is the way it looks. It doesn't work for some folk. Personally, I don't care and think it works great. Gives you a chance to remove the FCG pins without removing the lever.

The MagPul BAD lever will not fit the DPMS extended bolt catch. The DPMS catch had a much wider & larger paddle shape so the BAD won't slip over it properly

I am going to grab a BAD lever and original bolt catch at RifleGear tomorrow. It's cheaper and to be honest the P5 is a little too blingy for me.
