Here's my latest member of the family.

Build Sheet
PlumCrazy Complete Lower -$200
Chiappa M4 22LR Upper w/ 2 Mags - $270.98
Osprey 3-9x42 Scope - $127.30
UTG Scope Mount - $16.50
Black Dog 10rd Mag - $14.99
Total (all prices includes fees, shipping etc.) - $629.77

250 rounds and not a single hiccup (and the c-clip looks fine so far).
The first 50 were CCI Mini-Mags, the next 150 Remington RGB's (My P22 eat's RGBS all day long, so I have a lot!).

Here's the obligatory picture

Very nice moderate budget build.

Thanks Bob, my 5.56 upper is sad so I guess I'll get another lower. I still think the one above will get a heck of a lot more range time. I started off with iron sights and was in the ten ring within 6 shots @25yds. The scope makes sectioning charcoal briquettes a pleasure.

Very nice. May I ask where you got your upper?

I got it from
Midwest Hunters Outlet (http://www.midwesthuntersoutlet.com/item.aspx?PID=511534&w=PQ%2BJDyOLrQE%3D). Mixed reviews about the vendor on the net. It took about two weeks to reach my door, but other than that I had no issues (I'm guessing it was a drop ship).
Marks Armory (http://www.marksarmory.com/product_p/chiappa22upper.htm) has them now as well, they didn't when I purchased mine. If they did I would have purchased for a few bucks more due to the fact they are a calguns sponsor.

Honestly though, I would suggest spending a few bucks more for a CMMG upper. I knew what I was getting into when I went with the Chiappa and was experimenting. Chiappa QC could be better. Most common issues seem to be the front sight being canted (I had to adjust windage 20 clicks left using iron sights), and here on calguns, reports of c-clip/bolt springs having problems. Mating a polymer lower to a polymer upper was part of the experiment, but I worry about cranking anything down too tight on the upper rail.

That said, it is working well for me as it sits and I'll keep putting rounds down it as often as i can.
