Rockys suck IMO

Been wearing this pair of rockys for 5 years and when they need to go ill get the exact same thing........

I would recommend you find some to try on first - the "best" boots in the world (insert your favorite brand/model here) won't be worth squat if they don't fit right...

I used to wear Rocky boots when I was on patrol assignment. I bought 2 pairs and rotated them every few days. I liked them very much.

I had Rocky Alphas and loved them to death. Wore them out and our uniform store doesn't carry them anymore so I went to Magnums, but would love to have Rocky's again. Go to your local store and try them on first though because each company's last is different and the fit will be different.

If you have the opportunity try some on some Danners I would do so.

I am using 5.11 ATACs. Light boots, not too expensive and hold a good shine.

Adidas GSG 9

You'll thank me later

Never had a pair but have not heard good opnions about them.

OP, you and I have similar foot sizes (14.5) and the Adidas boots are the best boots I have ever worn. Only negative thing I can say about them is the soles don't last long.

I have owned Danners, 5.11 ATAC's, Converse, and Rocky's - I will never buy another boot.

In fact, last time I ordered boots, I ordered 3 extra pairs....in case they discontinue them down the road. I love them that much.

Adidas GSG 9

+1 on the GSG9 boots, my brother has them hes a EMT. Good enough for a German Counter Terrorist Team, good enough for me.:D

otherwise Bates are a good choice, and currently i have the 5.11 ATAC storms

I wear all leather danners. I trudge through too much stuff not to wear all leather. I have 2 pairs. That way I can have 1 in the shop getting resoled and have one on hand. Of course due to laziness, I bought pair of rocky light weight boots of some sort and they are awesome as well. They're great for when I have an assignment where I know I won't be trudging through stuff. Like traffic control at an event. Comfortable as all hell as I can stand in them all day and not feel a thing.

I have a size 14 EEEE foot and wear Bate's Ultra-Lights. Amazing boots.

Yes Rockys are good to go. I have been rotating the same two pairs day in and out for the last 2 years and they are comfortable, easy to shine, and (I believe) waterproof. You have to give them a week or two to break in comfortably.

IMHO opinion Danner's are WAY overpriced and make my feet really hot. People tend to buy Danners just because that's what they see everyone else wearing.

I'm a 2E size 16 so I feel your pain. I've got a nice older pair of Rocky's, from 2007. They're my favorites, but my local uniform shop told me Rocky's was sold to China and the quality went down the tubes.

FWIW, Danners always seem good, but they're expensive and don't seem to last any longer. Bought a pair of Bates boots as well years ago and put a couple of years on them but they always hurt my feet. just my experience.

My Rocky Alpha boots lasted a year and a half of patrol work. The Magnum Stealth boots lasted more than two years already and the soles are still in good shape.

Too bad the new Rocky Alpha boots are way fugly with those huge lug soles like the Bates.

I prefer Bates Boots, wear them everyday and have no complaints.

I wear those exact boots and they're great once they break in. The sizing may or not br right for you because I normally wear a 9.5 EE and with the Rockys it is 8.5 EE so caveat emptor buying boots on Ebay brother.

liked my rockys, but the sole was soft and wore out after 3 years.
now i use (china made) danner APB, and like them a lot.

the (USA made) danner acadias are great material and construction, but terrible fit.

The very best!

excuse me....oakleys are like sneakers and they show love through usstandard issue

Go to bug five and try the response gear tactical. They are only about $25, but are comfortable. I go through boots quick, so these work for me... If you don't like them, you now have a cheap pair of range boots!

military issues Rockys or altmas. I wear Blackhawks and I love them

Just realized you asked a question, and I forced my opinion without answering your question... Sorry.

I don't care for rockys, but a lot of guys I have worked with do.

liked my rockys, but the sole was soft and wore out after 3 years.

You must have a light step. My Rocky boots lasted 1/2 that long.

As for cheap boots that work well... Quartermasters has their LawPro line of boots which work as well as any high dollar boot for me and they run like $30 or $40 for a pair of the side zips, depending on the model.

I tried 2 different pairs and they both worked just fine at a fraction of the price.

Look for boots

Have a pair of Magnum Stealths that have held up and sometimes wear the Original SWATs for lighter duty.

I'm with Sam on this one, fit is critically important.

I tried the Oakley boots from USSI, found they ran really large and were rough to walk a beat in (yes we still have footbeats). I had Danners in the fire service, and that's all I wear now. 1 pair of Acadia's w/o the thinsulate, 1 pair of Ft Lewis w/ 200g thinsulate. They are also sized a little off. I wear a 10 in my nike shoes, but wear a 9EE in the Danners. They do get a little heavy, especially the Ft Lewis boots, but throw in a cheap heel support and they will last forever. Have 1 pair going on 8 years. Worth every penny.

Training, run/gun stuff: Oakley boots. If you trash them, who cares.
Patrol: Danners all the way.
