Where:
"Taqueria Azteca, 7155 Amador Plaza Road, Dublin 94568"

Who:
"EVERYONE!"

Why:
"FOOD, CALGUNS TALK AND MEGABRATIONS TALK AND FUN!"

What?
"Go clean the peanut butter out of your ears!"

Facebook Event Page (http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=170669119663695)

This is a lunch gathering that I have put together with the help of Oaklander, Steyrlp10, and Saigon1965 who have been ABSOLUTELY SUPER HELPFUL!!

Here is where we meet, and discuss the NEXT "MEGABRATION"!

I tried to get carried away and put together a big dinner, but the logistics and planning seemed to fall apart for some reason, but prepare, I tell ya, cause we'll be talking 'bout some action later!

Everyone here is invited, and invite your friends, bring your families, even your dreadlock hippy (don't tase me bro) in laws, and LET'S SPEND THE NIGHT TOGETHER!!! I mean... Let's eat some DANG GOOD MEXICAN FOOD TOGETHER!!!

Erik.

You know, unless this is event restricted to 2nd A RKBA, it would be great if the Mods/Kes could somehow make this thread appear in the OT, Ladies, and Calguns Official Events forums simultaneously (i.e., don't move the thread, but have this single thread active in all 4 forums, but they remain all part of this one big thread, if you get what I mean). I suggest this because I'm sure there are members who visit one of those forums and don't regularly visit the others and would miss this event.

If you vote in this poll now, saying I might be there, can you change your vote as the date gets closer and you have a better idea of whether you can make it or not?

FWIW I think the earliest we will have a reason for a "megabration" will be about a year or two AFTER this luncheon, when we HOPE to have won Shall Issue.

But then again, I'm not privy to all the goings on, and if I was, I'd have to kill you (and myself), if I spilled the beans. ;)

This should be good and full of friends. I will be there of course, I still gotta find assless chaps to compete with Oaklander and Purple K ;-)

BTW expect some open carriers since I invited them and I am one of those darn OC'ers until I get a CCW.

Falconis
07-04-2011, 1:04 AM
ok my question is, are any open carriers going to be openly carrying. I am not condemning nor praising here nor do I want to detract from this post. I just simply want to attend the lunch in, if I am able to, without wondering if ALCO deputies will be showing up.

Mind you all, I just asked about openly carrying. I did not ask are they showing up. I hope everyone that wants to show up will including anyone that supports UOC. I just want to avoid certain potential dramas in my life.

puppy8a9
07-04-2011, 7:19 AM
Really it is a myth that LEO show up at places where UOC'ers go. It is an easy fix to make sure LEO does not show up if we needed to make sure.

Let's not make this thread or event about UOC since this is not a UOC event.

Omg! I'm liking this crowd. We're the fun ones! This will be so cool!

The UOC aspect won't be an issue. I think it would actually be awesome to meet some UOC folks. True story, the last one who was at my Oalkand house brought 20 pounds of lobster. These are not bad people. They just have slightly different ideas sometimes.

The distinction between "us" and "them" is sometimes an Internet illusion. There's much overlap, in reality.

Well if she is wearing buttless chaps, she BETTER know the back end! And so your price is 20 pounds of lobsters? is that all for you or can you be bought personally for 5-8 pounds of lobster? ;-)

And to not ruin anyone's appetite, I will be fully clothed!

I may bring my chaps. I'll post for photos in them (clothed), if folks want to make a $20 donation to CGF. . .

I won't hold the money, since I will be heading back up to the Hills. But we will likely have a Board Member there manana who can take it with them, and put it in the bank.

It's not much for me to offer (trust me, it's NOT). . .

Totally fun!!!

Chau's got a kick-a bike. Good times, good meeting ng1911 and his wife, and all the other new folks. Also good just hanging with the guys and gals. It's little groups like ours that ARE the grassroots in CA.

This is just EPICALLY good!

The main point is that we are just normal folks, who LOVE civil rights. But we don't need tie dye, or patchouli, to make our point. We just do the work, have fun, and network with our peers in other groups!

I was kind of burning out, just a little, over the last few weeks. Seeing all you guys and gals has totally rejuvenated me.

;-)

I'm the tall fella on the right. The guy in orange has been a friend of mine for well over a decade (and is the one who got me wearing kilts, damn him :)). He's always been kinda on the fence about guns and meeting the various folks today had a really positive impact on his outlook. He based most of his opinion on what he saw on the news and always figured I was the exception and not the rule for gun owners.

By that I mean he was pretty convinced that 99.99% of people who own guns were trigger happy or murderous sociopaths. In the car on our way back home he asked me if I'd help him choose a gun and take him shooting.

That, folks, is how we win this war.

That is just so awesome!

And now, hopefully, he'll spread the word.

This is the very essence of grassroots. I hope we'll be able to make respect for RKBA go viral. It'll take time and will start small (it always does), but going viral means we'll get exponential growth, in this case of respect for RKBA.

Yes, they seemed like nice guys! And it was really cool to see some folks who are just now learning about all the neat grassroots stuff we do.

The way to "see" this is that we are all friends who get together and have a good time, and sometimes that "good time" includes advocating for gun rights.

AS I always tell people, our opposition simply does not have any fun at all. They do "this" out of hate. We "do this" out of LOVE.
