Is there any truth to this rumor I have been hearing? I don't live inside city limits and am considered a County resident in San Juaquin, I have heard a few things I thought were interesting about this. Also, would it be easier to to draft a good claus statement if you live In the country?

It's what I hear as well. I'd be interested to see the data on this. Are there more approvals of rual residents, specificly in San Juaquin Co?

You asked about a good cause statement. The link offered saysa. Structure your good cause statement as either a) “I wish to acquire a firearm carry permit for the purpose of self-defense”, or b) if you have a good cause which approximates one from those we posted here, you can state the same good cause (as long as it’s truthful – it’s a crime to lie on the application).

What questions do you have that are not answered in that thread?

I'm not the OP but I followed that link to GC statements and could not find any? Do they really exist? To I just need to find the hidden non-intuitive link amongst the clutter?

Never mind. I found them.

They're about half way down the page after you click the other link. LOL

Maybe this will help: San Joaquin County GCS (http://calgunsfoundation.org/downloads/documents/gcstatements/SanJoaquinGC(subset).pdf)

It actually looked like the interviewer added a notation to one of those statements that reinforced the applicants very brief statement.

Are you talking about #7 on the first page? I thought the same thing.
