Just state "to the best of my recollection" as to who you sold it to and when. As long as you are accurate, you are safe.

I would say that as long as you fill out the form to the best of your ability, you should be good. Let DoJ go to ATF and dig through all JD's old paperwork to prove you wrong. Also, just because you sold it to a FFL doesn't mean that it would have to be DROSed again. If the dealer sold it to someone out of state, another dealer or even had it in inventory at the time he turned in his FFL, it would not have required a DROS. BTW, I will probably see the person who I think you sold it to at some point tomorrow. If you want to, shoot me a PM with a basic description and I'll see if it jogs his memory and possibly the memories of any old employees I run into.
