I almost have my precision Remington 700SS 5R done but the last piece is the optic. Looking at a Nighforce 5.5 - 22x50 with the high speed turrets and zero stop. But also have been looking at the Vortex Razor HD 5-20X50 as well. Torn between the two. Looking for some advice and what to see what you think! Planning on using this as a long distance precision shooting platform. Hopefully being able to join that 1000meter club someday!

So let me here your thoughts! If you have another option in that price range please let me know!

Here is the Nightforce I am looking at:

Brother,

The first thing that jumps out at me is one scope is FFP, the other SFP. Usually shooters have a preference for one over the other. Each scope will behave differently based on this alone.

Another option is the IOR 3.5-18x50, avaialble in FFP or SFP....

Does FFP or SFP truly not matter at all?

Not really set on the FFP or SFP. All mine at the moment are SFP and I like them. Never really had a chance to mess around with a FFP scope. I know that each of them have there benifits but like I said I have SFP scopes already and for that reason I am leaning towards the Nightforce. But the Vortex caught my eye since it is 35mm and has the increased magnification.

FFP has a utilitarian function, but the reticle's changing appearance takes getting used to and will appear thicker at max mag. The NXS is actually 22x vs 20x for the Razor. I love the Razor scope, but I think you will be more comfortable with the NXS

So let me ask you. If you had to chose would you do the Vortex or the Nightforce? Been doing some research and the Nightforce has a much better track record? Does Nightforce offer a FFp model? How does the glass in the Razor compair to the glass in the PST? My intention for this setup is to be able to shoot some of the tactical matches at Angles with the CAPRC crowd. Thanks in advance for all the help!

Nightforce has been around much longer, that's for sure. The Nightforce FFP model is the F1. I really like the F1! But is it 15x. There is a new Nightforce "mega-scope" in the works that is highly anticipated, but I don't know any details b/c I'm not a Nightforce dealer. The glass in the Razor is much better than in the PST, IMO. What is the CAPRC crowd? I've heard that name lately.
